Lottery Fun -- Mega Millions Style........

Isn't this the fantasy Whoo-Hoo!?!

1) Immediately change my phone number to something unlisted. Lay low. Set up an anonymous trust and send the attorney to collect the funds in the trust's name to leave my name outta it! Invest a great portion of it to generate interest so there would always be a steady income.

2) Pay off all bills, mortgages, student loans. Give this house to brother-in-law and we would move. Buy a big ranch in Santa Fe area and a beach house in Mendocino or Carmel-by-the-Sea.

3) Quit job... Well, I work part-time, so I'd just work no-time and shift my bizzy-ness to other interests. Perhaps open up a dog biscuit shop or have an egg booth at the weekend farmers market, but definitely spend more time raising veggies and gardening on the hobby farm. Let husband quit job to pursue new careeer opportunities, if he wants. (Note to Husby: Sitting on the beach in Mendocino is NOT a career)

4) Most definitely. At $133M post taxes I could throw a chunk o' change to needy family (several have recently lost jobs and struggling with mortgages) and set up trusts to take care of college for the kids, etc. I would pay off all my siblings' mortgages and make it very clear that we're NOT their yearly benefactors. We're trying to keep Mom out of the old folks home, so get her a butler/driver and chef.

5) My ranch in Santa Fe area would look like a zoo... A few trail horses, mini goats and lots and lots and lots of chickens. I'd start breeding my own layers...and, of course, get a REALLY fancy incubator.

6) Split the time between Santa Fe area and seashore, with lots of interesting vacations. Definitely move to someplace with NO CC&R's or HOA's.

7) I would set up a couple of charitable foundations. I would also hire my sister to run interference for me as I'm kind of a private person and wouldn't want to be hounded by hand-outers. And arrange for a big all-expenses-paid family reunion at some fun spot. Have the ultimate dream kitchen....(Note to Husby: Fancy stove's purpose is not to be used solely for heating up takeout).

Send him over, we have 20 gallon buckets of them here, and a 12X14 playroom to build in.

1. What would you do?

Start a hippie-chicken commune.

2. Realistically, what would you buy first?

Pay off Boyd's mortgage, we're buds like that. Find a few hundred acres and begin said chicken commune.

3. Would you continue working?

I have to have some sort of work to keep me happy, I'd most likely put a small private school on the place, so I could keep teaching.

4. Would you share the $$ with family?

Have you seen my family? They wouldn't loan someone $5 for gas.....

5. New livestock? What's your dream animal now that you can afford anything?

I'd like a goat or 3 to milk. maybe a pig or 2 so I could make pruschetto

6. Where would you live?

I'd buy a small cottage in San Diego and a large swatch of land in the midwest.

7. Name anything else!!! Elaborate!!!

A motorized wheelchair, and a van with a lift. I'm trying to make due with my manual one, but there's alotta strain on my elbows. We'd have the funds to adopt.

Would the chickens be hippies or the people? I can just see the chickens now, strutting around in their tie-dye saddles...

Why not both?

Fun post!

1. What would you do? Pay off all debt and our house.
2. Realistically, what would you buy first? We'd finish the basement, build a barn and do some landscaping projects we've wanted to do for awhile.
3. Would you continue working? Heck no!!! I'm a SAHM, but DH would be retiring immediately!!
4. Would you share the $$ with family? Yes.
5. New livestock? What's your dream animal now that you can afford anything? We'd be getting some little goats to share that barn with our birds.
6. Where would you live? We'd probably stay here until the kids finished school (another eight yrs or so) but would be looking for larger property where we could build our self-sustaining solar powered off the grid log home. Somewhere with rolling hills and mountains in the distance. And lots and lots of acreage. Probably also have a condo on a beach somewhere!

7. Name anything else!!! Elaborate!!! We'd probably do some serious traveling! Like an around the world trip!

1. I would buy some acreage further west from where I am at now and build.
