Loud Hen

My 23 week Austrolorp wont be quiet. Is this a sign that she is going to give me an egg soon?

I'd say probably. my hens like to "announce" before and after they lay an egg haha. I heard an old saying that said:

The Codfish lays ten thousand eggs,
The Chicken lays but one;
But a Codfish never cackles to tell you what she's done.
And so, we scorn the Codfish, while the humble Hen we prize;
Which only goes to show you that:
IT PAYS TO ADVERTISE!
