Loudest and quietest ducks

Any of the Whistling ducks are very loud especially at night. N.A. Shoverlers, European Shelduck & Chiloe Widgeons are very loud too when they get fussy.

Mandarins, Ring Teal, Falcated Teal, & Common Goldeneye are pretty quiet. just occasional calls except when coming of the nest. The Mandy hens scream like banshies

out of all my ducks(almost 40 species) the only ones i ever notice are in this order loudest. paridise shelducks,female grey call,and my blackbellie and fulvous tree ducks near dark or night if something disturbs them. If I had neighbors that might not like any noise these would be ones to avoid(mater of fact my paradise let me know if anyone comes to my house

ive never had one scream out of 100,s ive had. Yours must be possessed

I don't mean literally scream as in human but my Mandies are very grumpy when they come off the nest to take a break and raise a awful ruckus

I had to build outside brooders today because my wife got mad at all the noise all the baby pheasants,quail,and baby ducks every where in my down stairs

My female pekin was NEVER loud. She would do maybe one or two 3 quack calls, but only when she's hungry....even then those weren't loud at all. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that she's an only duck. (Her brother/sister died at week 2)
