Oh thats great the hatch came on thru for you Id like to add not trying to be bossy but just a little helpful you might ought to get another thermometer and check against the one you have as it may be off a little usually a later hatch is due to a slightly lower temp not enough to do damage per say but just to linger a little longer than normal.

No, that's precisely what happened (thought I explained it earlier, but maybe I didn't). When the cold snap came through last week, them temps dropped to 96 or so a few times. My husband said they were all dead. I said they just needed more time. Major household dispute.

Well, I came home today to 5 Silkie eggs out of 21 just starting to peep!!! If everything goes well, I hope to start seeing some chicks by tonight or tomorrow.

Anyone on here looking for Silkies? I should have Buffs, BBS and Partridge available by Friday. I have not decided yet but I'm probably going to sell just a few of these and keep a few for myself. I'm also going to be looking to sell a few other birds to make room what what I have in the bator. If anyone local is looking for started birds, I have 3 Colombian Wyandotte pullets and 3 Buff Orpington pullets that are all about 10 weeks old, they hatched Sept 19th. I also have some sizzles that hatched on Thanksgiving day. I think I'll have 3 smooth sizzles that I'm going to be looking to sell as well. Let me know and I'll send you some pics!
