This is hilarious. And, no, it wasn't a typo. I will be 37 weeks and 3 days on Christmas day, which if you take four weeks to be an average month (which I do), you get 9.25 months. Baby girl is due on January 12th, which is exactly 40 weeks into the pregnancy, and by my math, 10 months. At any rate, by 37 weeks, they are considered full term and safe to deliver, but not only do I not want to be in the hospital for Christmas, I also don't want her to get stuck with a Christmas birthday. So, I plan on beaching myself on the couch.

And, speaking of babies, here's a couple pics of the ones that hatched yesterday.

I sell my day olds for $8. And (although I've never sold pullets), I think I'd charge $25. Are you saying that's too much? I just know they cost me a lot to get started and they eat a lot.

Sounds right to me if they are from a decent bloodline. A little high if not.

Good evening everyone. I have a question. Tonight is the first night since I got chickens that the temps will be below freezing in my area (6 to 8 hours of freezing temps). Do I need to do anything special to keep them warm? I have 4 hens in a 4x4 feet house, off the ground, with vents under the roof. My husband said that even if I close the windows, the house will lose heat because of the vents. Should I staple plastic over the vents??

I never knew the cost. I was surprised to see that they cost that much.

I received a Freeze Warning text on my phone from the weather channel. I live in Opelousas. I have open air raised coops and I didn't do anything different tonight. I think they should be ok.

Maybe others will chime in and offer more info.

As long as they are dry you shouldnt have any issues with the cold. Its supposed to get 27 here and not heating anybody.

They're from a good bloodline. Got my start from a reputable breeder.
