"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Hey Mike, won't have any Speckled Sussex..... I'm not sure what in the H%$L is going on but out of the 16 eggs I set every single one of them were clear. Not a one was fertile. :he  I'm so flipping mad right now!!  SO either he's shooting blanks or not breeding them at all. What's crazy is I hatched 3 of their eggs in November. On a better note every Golden Cuckoo Marans egg I set is progressing right on schedule!! :yesss:

Well I'm hoping I have this problem solved! I had a back up Speckled Sussex roo that I just got rid of a month ago. I got him back last night. They are coming next Wednesday to do my NPIP recertification so it's the only reason I decided to get him back. I was outside for quite a bit yesterday and never saw that rooster mate with any of the hens.

I got my Sportsman yesterday. Got it hooked up and it's been running about 12 hours now. Plan to transfer my GCM eggs in it tonight.

Yesterday was a beautiful day! Hope everyone enjoyed theirs!!

Missi, what do you mean, you got him back? Someone didn't want him anymore????

Congrats on the delivery of the Sportsman.

Good Luck on your NPIP recert.

I called him up and said "Hey, can I please have my rooster back??"

He took the other rooster that I didn't want anymore and I gave him a hen to get him back!!

It worked!

I'm nervous about the NPIP... I always am. Have no clue why!

Hello Everyone! It appears that almost all the silkie hatching eggs I ordered from ebay are growing chicks! The bad news is that my silkie roo is sick. He must have gotten in a tiff with my main bantam roo and he had air under his skin... I have him inside and I've been keeping an eye on him, but this morning he had some blood in his poo so we are headed to the vet. I really wanted to breed him because he is soooo beautiful, so keep your fingers crossed for me.

I'm always nervous as well Missi. I think it's normal to be nervous.

You'll do just fine.

Sorry to hear about your roo. I hope he will be ok. :fl

Congrats on the silkie hatching eggs. I'm scared of silkies though.

I was going to try to experiment with some goose eggs but I think I'm asking for trouble. Goose eggs are 12 times more difficult to hatch than chicken, duck and turkey eggs (from what I have been reading). Twiley, Gracie and Mike can jump in and comment please. People have been contacting me looking for geese, so I may sell or give away the goose eggs. The geese can't even hatch their own eggs, how in the world did I think that I could hatch goose eggs. DUH :smack
