"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

What color egg does a Minorca lay? Do you have a picture of an adult Minorca? Silkies! I don't have any silkies! Are they possible showgirls?
I am at Chik-Fil-A in Lake Charles replying to your post.

I have a hen that should hatch some showgirls in a couple of weeks

I'm expecting Blues and Black... maybe even a partridge or two. The Minorcas lay a large white egg. They take a while to fill out, but are a nice looking once they grow into themselves!

They are not show quality, but are excellent layers and foragers! They tolerate the heat VERY well

hey everybody

i know i asked this a few days ago but my RIR chicks are 8 weeks old now and im still feeding them straight chick starter, with the exception of a treat every day which is usually a tomatoe out the garden sometimes a few worms from my worm bed. all are very active and look really healthy but i picked up a few of them today and they feel skinny and light should i be adding to there diet or is this normal? i keep the feeders full.

As for as the diet question my opinion is 6 weeks on Starter then 6 weeks grower or starter/grower, then grains till there old enought to lay then laying pellets. Is what I would do I they where isolated by themselves. As I posted earlier on the rice comment I feed differenty when I have multiple hatches on the yard free range. They only thing I keep away is laying pellets till there 6 or 7 monthes old or old enough to lay eggs. To much calcium isn't good.
