i had a guy try and tell me today that i needed to switch my entire flock to EEs, he said he would start buying eggs from me then cause they were lower in cholesteral, have yall ever heard of this, i personally think he is an idiot

what do yall think?
I'm right there with Gracie on that one too. Yep he's an idiot theres noway eggshell color makes any difference in the inside of an egg all of the contents in the egg are strictly relavent to the hens dietary activities, besides if he's worried about his eggs adding too much cholesterol to his diet then he might ought to skip the bacon or sausage that goes along with them or the butter on the toast yep I vote IDIOT

This idea is a myth given by hatcheries. Several years ago a University lab tested white, brown and green eggs for cholesterol content. the birds were fed the same. There was no difference in the eggs. However, if you feed a special feed that would provide a lower cholesterol, then there is a difference.

A simple internet search found this:

it may not have a difference in cholesterol but i do know one thing farm raised brown eggs are better than store bought white eggs

Farm raised WHITE eggs are better than store bought BROWN eggs!

Local farm raised anything is better commercial raised anything.

This week we had watermelons for $5 each. Wal-Mart had some for $4. Wal-Mart imported from Florida. Ours came from our local farms. Always support your local farmers!
