I got tested and passed on last month. Just waiting for my certification number in the mail.

Thanks! It feels good to get this behind you, doesn't it?

Yes it does. I was a nervous wreck thinking that one of my birds wouldn't pass. It was soooooooooooooooo easy. WHEW !

. I'm not far from you.

Actually I am in Arnaudville, but Lafayette seems to be an easier map find for some people.

I visited your website and am inspired. Chickens are the first step to my hobby farm, and we hope to get a goat and calf after we get a veggie garden going.

I have probably passed your church, we go down that way quite often. We go to a similar type church here that believes the same thing. So glad you have that link on your signature. God Bless!

I have to build bon fires for the animals tonight to keep them warm. The turkey hens are setting on eggs, so I have to make sure that they are especially warm tonight.

Ouch! I don't know how people survive up north, but then again I was born and raised in the south! lol

What are the benefits to becoming certified, can you explain it? Thanks!

We are seeing the occasional snowflake drift down, but nothing serious - just chilly & nasty & damp & cold! but hey, this weekend is supposed to warm up -- something to look forward to!

I just got "the call" - surgery at 1:00 tomorrow-- RATS!!! now that is a whole wasted day! I was so hoping to be first one on the list and be back home by 1:00! I think I'll come in to work for a couple hours in the morning. (Mostly to take my mind off of not being able to eat or drink anything, lol!)

I hope to get my NPIP by this summer -- have to finish raising the blue orps & get them "incorporated" into the flock first, and get the peas moved into their new permanent pen, plus have a couple of chicks due from Meyer in March. Plus want to hatch some of my Ameracaunas and some olive-eggers from my own birds! Yeah, hopefully by summer will have all of this accomplished & time to get the NPIP. I had a couple of roosters done last year that I was thinking about showing at the parish fair, they were clean so I don't expect any problems.

Wendy if you ever want to ship birds/eggs across state lines, you need your NPIP certification. Plus, it's good to know that your flock is free of those diseases they test for.

OK... One more day of rain and I'm going to have to trade my Chickens for Ducks!!!!!! ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

"Murphys Law" is kickin my azz .. I need some dry time for run work and, my house roof too...lol
