Good evening to all you La-yers! I'm playing catch-up from the last couple of days.

A lil while back I remember seeing somebody asking about extra roosters of certain breeds. I don't remember who it was...anybody know? They were looking for an EE I believe. I have a Lavender Ameraucana roo that would love to have some girls of his own again. He's technically an EE since the color isn't accepted by the APA yet. I'll be happy to send some pics if anyone is interested. He's good to the ladies and has no human aggression. He is smaller than my other roos, but he's definitely the boss and keeps everyone in line.

I have 2 Lav Am roos and will be moving my girls into the laying flock in spring to make room for one of my new interests. They really are good boys and I won't be processing them. They're not meaty types anyway lol!

Kuntrygurl I finally had time to make can my fig, mostly did plain but did some strawberry fig jam to. One of my neighbors brought me some myers lemons.

Congratulations! A few months ago on a Sunday morning, one of my girls started acting wierd. She would go from place to place making a funny sound, restless. Since I didn't think any of my girls would lay before 8 months and she was about 5 1/2 months, I thought she was sick. I texted church to tell them that I thought my hen was sick and I was going to stay with her. About an hour later, I texted them a foto of my first egg. It was a very proud moment.

Ratites are ostriches & emus, that sort of bird. Big birds!
