"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I'm going to check it out better later on, but it seems the coop construction held up pretty well. The roof is damaged and my run was blown into the neighbors yard. That part is destroyed. I think the coop just may need a new roof and will be ready to go! My fingers are crossed. I don't want to have to go and buy all new material and build in the rain.

Not too bad for being thrown 25 feet into a fence!

Got up this morning to find all of our downstairs plumbing is backed up.

Most of the back yard is under about 4-5 inches of water, but -- and it was too dark to take pics -- the front part of the chicken run where we put the sand is NOT under water!

Jim took my folks to the eye Dr at 7:00 - my Dad had cataract surgery in one eye yesterday (other one later this month) & I came in to work (the long way around - I didn't dare cut through the neighborhoods I usually do 'cuz I know they're all flooded).

Otherwise all is well here - just keep trying to do an "anti-rain" dance.

This is my flooded area where the roads are flooded.

That kinda looks like our backyard did this morning.
I am happy to say Jim reported that our plumbing went back to normal around 9:00 a.m.!
We can flush! Life is good again!

I guess we are going to have to get a couple loads of dirt hauled into that low spot, as it is right over the septic tank.

This is what I would have had to drive through if I would have gone to work this morning.

I'm so glad you stayed home! you stay safe too!

I know we got over 6 inches of rain since yesterday; the rain gauge holds that much & it's overflowing & we just emptied it yesterday. Weatherman said total over past 2 days of 10 inches in our area.

I guess it beats snow & ice.....

Hey everyone. I hope that everyone and their animals are safe. The rain is non stop. I am flooded in over here. Just called the Sheriff's Office and they confirmed that my area is flooded, so I can't get out to go to work. I'm worried about my animals outside.

A small tornado just passed through my neighborhood and took my chicken coop. Found all the chickens. They are in a box in my kitchen now. Someone's shed was ripped to pieces and thrown against my truck. Not a good morning. It seems the house is ok, but will check again in daylight.

Okay. I tried the multi-quote for the first time and I didn't quite get it right. But, I just want to say that I am prayin for all the LA-yers and their animals and homes and coops and runs...I am so sorry for what has happened. I agree with Terri: it may beat snow and ice, especially the black solid road ice and trying to get to work on that. Maybe...LOL This water is pretty bad.

What do you guys think? Will this be suitable for few days until I can rebuild their run and fix their coop? It's 10 square feet and my girls are only 5 weeks old.

One of my tornado girls is limping a bit, but she's getting around fine. Her leg doesn't feel broken and she is putting some pressure on it. Hopefully it will heal well.
