Welcome to the board! I have several Ameraucanas that are laying right now. Do you want to hatch some eggs?

I wouldnt have the first clue how to hatch eggs! Did I mention I am impatient?? I want eggs yesterday:) Do yours lay colored eggs?
Just out of curiousity...how on earth do they ship eggs? Chicks were difficult enough for me to wrap my brain around...but eggs????>

Julie, I guess it's true what they say, "One man's junk is another man's treasure." We are getting ready to put a house up for sale and in cleaning out the shed I came across an old rusty gasoline can, and an old white metal shop light/brooder light. I saw your post earlier but thought I had already thrown these away; however, today I came across them. They are yours for the asking, however, they are given "as is" with all of the dirt, leaves, spider webs, and God knows whatever else is living on or in them. If you want them I can bring them to the Expo for you. I will try to post a picture for you. I already tried twice but imageshack is having problems.

Oh, they're easy to ship. You just need to wrap them very well to make a cushion for them. On the incubating... well, don't worry, we'll corrupt you very soon!!

It just depends on what breeds your looking for
The feed stores do get silkies some but not often and have never seen polish at either

lamike, how to you keep your woodducks? Are they just loose or in a pen? I was wondering if they'd fly away. My son loves woodducks and he has a fishpond. I was wondering if they'd stay on the pond.

I Dream 0f Chickens *Ü* :

We got three chickies from the feed store today!!!

Well just to let ya'll know my testing went well today! Didn't take longer than 20 mins tops to test them all! Well I say all but he only did 21 out of 35!! And he said I'll have my # in 5-6 weeks!! Super nice man. Offered that if I had any questions, concerns or if I was having any problems with my birds to give him a call! Gave me is home number too!! Said he's def not a poultry expert but he would get me to one if I needed it.

He basically told me this for those that don't know how it works... Once your tested ever bird that you bird into your flock or buy hatching eggs they need to be from a NPIP flock. Testing needs to be done anually and he said that they would probably test the new birds that you've recieved since tesgting and 1 or 2 from the ones that were tested the previous year!

I'm glad I went ahead and did it!!
