This is a broody muscovy hen who is setting on about 12 duck eggs and a chicken who just wants to lay her egg for the day. Out of all of the nesting boxes inside the chicken house, why does the chicken just have to lay an egg in that particular nesting box that is already occupied with the duck. And the poor muscovy hen is so accomadating, she doesn't mind at all.

That is SO typical! I have one nesting box that is the Queen of Boxes-- I'm serious, I've seen 3 hens pushing for space there-- I have no idea what the attraction is on that one - -the rest of the hens use the other boxes but this one is "Special"!

Needless to say, we got zero done on the pea coop this chilly, rainy back-to-winter-one-more-time weekend, the sun came out at 5:00 this afternoon to taunt us.

Tomorrow is another day. And next weekend-- the Expo!

I hoped to get two tractors built before the expo, but it's nasty out there.

I went and bought all my veggie plants today!! Was going to get my son to weed eat and mow in my garden. There was about 2" of water on the ground so working out there was out the question.

I'm heading to Home Depot tomorrow to get some supplies to build me a tractor. I want one for my meat birds!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

I grabbed up a dozen tomato plants today. They just looked so cold out there in the garden center.

I don't know if ya'll ever heard of Bargin Bee??? The do all these thing like buy a voucher for a certain amount and you get double that amount at what ever the place is. I bought a voucher from them the other night. It was $20 for a $40 voucher from a nursery in Baton Rouge called Harb's Oasis. It was pretty cool since I needed plants anyway! If you get a chance check it out http://bargainbee.com/ if their doing stuff in your area. My mom gets them all the time for resturants!!

Oh btw I bought tomatos, cucumbers, eggplant, squash, zuccunni, okra and some herbs!

This one is going to be my daughters. We have pink and white paint left from painting her room, and pink wheels with white tires from her old bike.

I'm building one more with regular bike tires, and one with lawn mower wheels. It should be an adventure. All the wood is reclaimed from other projects, construction sites, and crate material.

I'm going to "try" to make mine with a wood frame on the bottom but use pvc pipe to make the arch and then cover it with wire!! We'll see how well it comes out!!

My hubby will probably end up fixing it for me but I always give it my all to try to build it myself!!

The reason I asked about the tires I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to do that. Went to my mom's the other day and she had 4 tires sitting outside that they were going to do something with but they gave them to me. I'm going to take one with me and try to find a bolt to fit it!! We'll see!!

I'm going to try and remove the bolts from the wheels, and replace them with a longer piece of all-thread, then bolt it directly to a lever of 2x4 and 2x2 mounted to the frame. I'll take some pics if it works.
