"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I bet the darn squirrels would love to get into it, too. and the coons - we used to build covers out of hardware cloth & wood to put over our garbage cans so the coons wouldn't take off the lids, so there's a solution right there!

I'm going to try it I think. I only have 23 chickens so it won't be overwhelming.

OK Mike -- we're on! see you there! and do keep me posted on the cotton patch; I'm very interested!
Terri,

I wasn't planning on going to the show, but might have to make an appearance if you have a few Welsummer eggs

I should have some incubator space available by then! Let me know!

mzstre, if you ever have any extra feeding storage cans, I would love to get some. I am usually in Baton Rouge once a month for a class and I could pick some up them. My next class in on the 27th of this month.

Just let me know.

Thanks

I used ammonia to clean the burners on my gas stove. Those things had years of cooked on residue. Add a little baking soda, and soak the area overnight. Should come right off with some steel wool and a little scrubbing after that.

Make sure you put it in a well ventilated area though! Don't need anyone passing out from fumes!

No Wellie eggs yet! they just turned 4 months old yesterday -- haven't started laying yet -- but I PROMISE to let you know as soon as they are laying & have some size to their eggs! you are welcome to some! I have the 4 older girls from my previous Wellie flock but the roos are old enough yet - -plan on combining all of them into one flock this coming weekend.

Come to the show anyway so we can meet!

have you tried that spay on oven cleaner? I know for cast iron, if it gets rusted and flaky, you can spray it with oven cleaner, put it in a trash bag over night, take it out, wash with hot water and a little vinegar and it'll be good as new. Might be worth a try with your pot.
