What a Monday!

Okay. I am officially an idiot. I found an auction on RBA for rare orp chicks in March. I was a little leery since they stated the chicks would be shipping at 2 weeks old at the end of April. However, many people were bidding and their feedback was good. I won the auction for an unbelievable amount of money--more than I've ever spent on birds.

I emailed two weeks ago asking for an anticipated hatch date, knowing the time limitations were about to end for me to be able to ask for a refund through Paypal. Instead of a date, I got a long email about the storms ruining all of the eggs and he was behind. I knew the weather there had been bad, so I gave it until today. I emailed this morning asking for a hatch date and anticipated hatch date that was acceptable or a refund. After many emails back and forth--his ship date was now end of May which I said would be too hot, then he said he'd ship them next week but they wouldn't be old enough (to which I responded that it was still going to be hot and they wouldn't meet the 6 oz size requirements for shipping and now I'm convinced these are excuses to get away with theft). His final email said he was blocking my email, but for me to let him know a date to ship them and give him a week's notice. I tried several times to be clear that I would love the birds, but I would rather have a refund than him send birds that will die in transit. *sigh*

So now, I don't have a way to say "JUST SHIP THE STINKIN BIRDS" because he says he's blocked my email and when I try to message him through our transaction on RBA, it won't let me message him I'm assuming because the transaction is several weeks old.

Total monetary loss and I've had to listen to an unprofessional scammer idiot rant all day.

I need that big bucket of strawberry wine!
How does he expect you to "let him know a date to ship them and give him a week's notice" if he blocked you??

Yup same ones, they make bunches of small yellow/orange fruits with 2 big seeds in each, maybe 4 seeds. I believe I have pictures somewhere of it fruting, maybe on facebook I'll look for um. Right now I have these I didn't chop :) a lil hard to see maybe (the woods and vines are coming back with vengeance I must get the machete out, its spring!

Chickenbelle ~ if you paid through PayPal and he hasn't held up his end of the bargain, you should be able to have them facilitate the refund. Also, if you paid with a credit card, many times they will help you with a refund as well. People like this make me furious!

I used RBA to auction some silkie/showgirl chicks once, and it was a nightmare. I lost one of the showgirl chicks I was supposed to send her, so I told her I would replace it as soon as I hatched some more. It was late fall, so I told her to get back with me in the spring because they had stopped laying. The site never forwarded me the messages that the buyer sent me. Once I finally got back on the site to read them, she had been trying to contact me for months. Then they wanted to charge me $5 to respond to the old messages. The poor woman thought I had been ignoring her for months, when in reality I just never got the messages. I got a poor feedback due to it which I was really upset about. I would never intentionally hide from someone like that! I won't be selling anything else on there that's for sure!

If I were you I would contact Paypal and ask them to grant you a refund. I usually use my American Express for online purchases (even through paypal), and they never give me any problems when I tell them that a transaction needs to be canceled. Sorry you had such a bad experience. I'm not a fan of that site.

My sentiments exactly. I made a point of stating that they had to meet size requirements if more than hours old AND the temperatures had to be under 85*...in order to keep from KILLING them in transit...please just give me a refund and sell them to someone else. Is that hard? After blocking me, I still can't get msg him on RBA. Paypal won't do anything because the transaction is 48 days old. I went to his website and told him that I had no other way of contacting him--to ship the birds and I would hope they lived through it. If I did not receive the birds I would have no choice but to file the charges for the theft with my bank I used in the paypal transaction. Get what he sent me:

Well you have another thought coming.. I'm not going to put up with your blackmail. You bought them.. You state its too hot and not to ship.. Then you state to ship.. Either way it goes I lose because your intent is to defraud / blackmail me and then leave me bad feedback.. I would seriously doubt that this is your only account and thats why you made this one up.. For situations JUST LIKE THIS.. Where you think you can defame, defraud and maniupulate the situation.. You do what you have to do.. I will tell you this much, when you do be sure you are doing it the legal way because once you start lying and doing the sort of things you have done in these emails, you are going to be held LIABLE for what you've said.. If you knew/ THOUGHT it was going to be too hot to ship to your state then why are all of these sellers still listing and shipping to areas all over the country.. I JUST got birds in from Florida and Texas.. you think you are any different than the rest of us?

Like I said, You give me a SHIPPING DATE that you want these birds when the temperature in your state is to your liking and keep me updated to that date if it changes.. This is ridiculous.. I have never had this sort of problem dealing with people in my near 50 years of animal husbandry.. We have sucessfully raised animals for decades and run an animal shelter in my area and all proceeds that I make from these birds, GOES TO FEED THESE ANIMALS... I would NEVER try to hurt, harm or intentionally cause injury to ANY animal.. We think of them as family. My Goodness , You should be ashamed of yourself the way you have acted in this situation.

I cannot for the life of me understand why you are acting this way.. I have done absoultely nothing to you or against you .. I do think I see what's going on here just like others have told me about some of you people selling / buying on these sites.. Theres 'THE CLICK" ..I've had more than several people warm me about ( your type) and some names over the last few years.. Now I know what they mean.... Its ok.. You do what you feel you need to do.. We can resolve this in court if thats whats necessary.. If you want to make a FEDERAL CASE out of not getting your way in honoring a contract to buy, then you have at it because I'm game.. This is RIDICULOUS that you have made me spend my entire day dealing with this pure ignorance and you should be ASHAMED of the way you are acting.. SEND THIS EMAIL to anybody you want, because you have no shame what-so-ever.. Hmmm. Give me what I paid for or my money back or I will have to act.... That's blackmail eh? My goodness that seller is on an awfully high horse. What a poor victim he is. How sad that he has to deal with someone who actually wants what they paid for. It is ridiculous that poor soul can't have your money in peace.

You just emailed to tell me that you were blocking my email and I had to contact you through RBA. That would be fine, except that I told you two weeks ago that when I click on our transaction on RBA it will not give me the option to message you anymore. Thus, if I cannot contact you, you wouldn't ship birds I paid for=THEFT.

Ship the birds immediately while the weather can handle it. I will hope for the best with the temperatures. I had another bird come in this past week that was DOA and it came from a few hours away. The humidity is the worst part on shipping birds. That is the main reason that I again became concerned about the birds coming from you dying needlessly in transit. I asked for a refund so we didn't chance killing them in shipping. If you feel that they can be shipped no later than next [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Wednesday
(that is the 10 day out time frame I can see the weather) then send them and I will hope for the best. I definitely cannot wait until May 20th. I am not blackmailing anyone...I paid for birds. I want them shipped in good condition, following USPS regulations. It just seems everything I have received in return from you is shady. I tried first to ask you for the refund before checking paypal or filing a claim with my bank. Rather than trying to work with me, you gave me excuses and changed your story each time.

Please let me know what day you will be shipping. Shipping day olds this week is healthier in 80 degree weather than shipping week olds next week in 84 degree weather, but that is up to you entirely. If the birds arrive intact, I would be glad to leave feedback stating such. I will be anticipating a tracking #.

Thats where this transaction took place and I have been more than nice about trying to work this out. You can keep insulting me all you want, it doesn't bother me, it just shows your lack of character.. As per your request, I will ship out next Wednesday since you chose that day and I stated to you to check the temperatures, I assume you have done so. At that time the chicks will be around 1 week old+ I don't normally have this situation to deal with so I am doing it per your instruction """ship the birds immediately while the weather can handle it".. You act as if I'm the only person in the country shipipng at this time.. Simply amazing to me that a simple transaction like this brings out such ugly in a person. As far as the feedback goes, to be honest with you, I could care less. You do what you feel you need to do and i will repond.. You don't bother me one bit with your attempts at "FEEDBACK BLACKMAIL " / extortion.. .. I've never had to deal with a person as nasty as you and I have little doubt, after inquiry, I'm not your first "victim".. You were right.. some people do know you.. hmm... Expect an email the first part of the week with your tracking information.. According to our weather, the temps will be perfect for shipping out here.. Its your responsiblity to make sure the temps are right on your end.. Good luck and hope you enjoy your chicks .. Please treat them kindly..

Followed by yet another email that was a copy of my first message the day I won the auction. I told him Louisiana's hub center ran slowly and to be sure to give me notice of shipment because I'd need to drive an hour to Alexandria to pick them up. His last email is claiming now that the only reason I'm demanding them now is because I don't want to go pick them up.

I have soooooooooo had it with idiots today.

He is N-UT-S!! I just hope he doesn't put DEAD chicks in the box and claim it was your fault. What a trip! Your email sounded very factual and business-like. Just make sure you don't ever meet him in person, he could be dangerous. Maybe I'm paranoid, but I would steer clear of someone like that!! He's just so off the wall, all over the place, just crazy. Phew!!
