Funny thing is. Out of all the new chicks I got this year that is the only rooster.

I think God got confused and sent me your fair share of cockerels on top of my share.

A chick born with double frizzle genes will be plagued with skin and feather issues.  Somewhat like this:

I have a trio of Welsummers from my last hatch up for grabs if anybody is interested - they are five months old, one roo and two pullets. PM me for information! I might be persuaded to part with 3 pullets if the offer is right...

The guinea has a nest hidden at the base of an old dead pecan tree -- be interesting to see if she actually hatches any eggs. I can't find the nest but she disappears for the majority of every day  - I only see her occasionally out w/the males - they all stick close to that same spot.

Nothing on my peas yet - but my records say I set my first eggs on May 19th last year, so they're still on schedule -- just slow!!

I will be setting 5 pea eggs tonight and will throw in some guinea eggs. If I get a few more this week, I will throw them in and will have a staggered hatch. :/

BFE. lol. It is in Sabine Parish.Not too far from Chickenbelle. Other Parishes near me are DeSoto, Vernon, Natchitoches, Caddo....
