"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

It was such a pretty day that I let the chicks out for their first outside time this afternoon. They're a month old today. They were able to roam around securely in the run while the big girls were free ranging in the yard. They scratched around in the new sand, ate some tiny grub worms, took a dust bath and then a nap in the sun. All in all, a very good day. The big chickens weren't too sure how they felt about the little chickens taking over their run. LOL
NICE !!!

A few pics from the weekend.

Friday hatching. One of my chickens hatched this gosling.

Saturday hatching. It takes a village to hatch this 1 measly gosling. Go figure. With all of those broody hens on this egg and stealing it from each other, the temps had to have exceeded 500 degrees at any given time. Seriously???

Sunday hatching. My little banty girl hatched a gosling . I had 2 eggs under her and 1 has hatched so far.

Terri, I followed your advice and tried to sneak a gosling under the goose that has been setting on eggs for 4 months now (just joking) and she tried to rip it's head off. That was all she wrote.

My berry bush is looking good.

There are more broody hens inside the chicken house than animals walking outside in the chicken yard. This is just one corner. They are ALL long the corner. :smack

I think that they are the worst bunch that I have. Just mischievous. :barnie

I think I'd have to send her to the gumbo pot for that! what a hateful old thing! That's so funny about taking a village to hatch that gosling! It must have a terrible case of confused identity!
Berry bush looking good - yummmm blackberry wine!

Rest of the gang looks great! I need to take some updated pics here. My lavendars are so shy & I am having a dickens of a time taming them down -- they run inside the coop when they see me. Still no pea eggs here. Maybe today. It's still so cool in the mornings & I think that has something to do with mine. We could've used a blanket on the bed last night!

OK time to get to work here.

Good Morning!! Thanks for a great Monday morning. Like I said before: Broody Acres Farm. Haha. Hope the little one survived the mean goose. Great berry bush. Happy Monday to everyone!

New fotos of the babies. They are starting to feather. They grow up so fast. Also a foto of my make-shift brooder. It has worked great. Of course, they want to always be together and are quite loud about being separated. They are content in my hands as long as I am holding both of them. LOL

Their combs are still completely pale with no hint of pink. Still hoping they are both girls.
