My first green egg
Pretty egg!

I am waiting rather impatiently for my first eggs.

Welcome back!!! Cute pea!!! As far as sexing you will begin to notice the size of the spurs and the back/wings. If the spurs start looking like "rooster" spurs, then you know you have a male. How old is the pea in the pic?

I haven't noticed any spurs yet, and this lil one is not timid. It flies to me any time I hold out an outstretched hand because it thinks I could possibly have a mealworm tucked away. Quite a hoot. My brother said it reminds him of the bird shows with the owls and raptors that are trained lol!

Hi, Mzstre!! We've missed you! Good to see you back!

Hi! I missed everyone! I'm happy to be back. :)

Say hello to my bundles of joy (10 guinea keets) that surprised me when I got home from work. I think that this was the ultimate shocker of the year. I don't know where this mama was hiding her nest but wherever it was, it had to have been tucked away where no-one could see.

This madness has got to end. This is not funny nor cute any more. I'm miserable! :hit

Ok, I know it's frustrating to you to have babies popping up unexpectedly, but they sure are cute! :D

To the tune of "Green Acres", ready? a-one & a two:

"Fertile Acres is the place to be"
"Lots and lots of happy poul--te--ry"
"Ducks & peas spread out so far & wide"
"Julie wants to scream & run & hide"!

I love this! Still giggling out loud!

In my case it is the neighbour that racks up a bill like that. Unfortunally the directions say shut off for the last house on the street...well mine is the last one you can see but behind the trees at the end of the road and my pasture is another house. I wish they could keep just one person for the shut off so that I can teach them my address and quit with the shutoffs. BTW my house has the last six mailboxes for the street in front of it, I think this is where they get confused. I now look for them around the 20th with bill in hand (for address) and give directions to the neighbor for their proper shut off.

All I can say is WOW about this one.

Ok. The broken up bench I found on the side of the road, I'm finished with it now and it's ready to go into the chicken yard.

She will probably be the size of a medium dog. They can be between 1 1/2 ft. - 2 ft tall and 100+ lbs. Her parents aren't huge so she'll likely fall towards the smaller end of the spectrum. I am so happy to have found potbellies as close as Deridder. Going towards Lake Charles actually. I have been wanting a pig for a long time!!!

Hi. know I haven't really posted lately but I am very excited about our new mini potbelly piglet we just picked out! She's not ready to come home yet, but here is a daily dose of adorable for you!
I will NOT let my granddaughter see that adorable piglet. She has been pushing hard for one. After the chickens she wanted more chickens ( done) , then she wanted 2 bunnies ( we are now 3 bunnies later). We can't get a pig or I would really have to sell my house and move to the country. Hmmmmmm.......
