I'm not sure if he wanted to share the recipe, or hope we forgot about his "guinea hunting".I think if he makes a dish of that for all of us, I would help him catch those guineas.![]()

Okay...so this may be just a bit off topic so I changed the recipe title...useful for those with 'harvested' culls etc.

Nope, nope. Never gonna happen. We already have plans of popcorn and wine...lol...
People are STUPID!!!!!
The horses owner stopped by my house to talk. He's an older gentleman and was crying about Sandy. I suggested as an option for Odie (the 20ish horse). I would have the vet check him over, give him his shots, and an updated Coggins. After a "quarantine" period, if they were interested, I would bring Odie over to one of my pastures and put him with my old gelding (Star 24yrs...the BEST kids horse EVER!!) so that Odie would have some company and not be alone. I have NO interest in owning Odie, he is not rideable, I simply didn't want him to be lonely. The owner said that he and his wife would really like that idea, but he wasn't sure about his 30 or 40 yr old daughter, who I have NEVER met in 16 yrs...who I could stand right next to in Walmart and never know...who NEVER comes out to even look at the horses...
Did I mention she lives 15 minutes away?????????
He wasn't sure she would want Odie to be off the property.. AAAGGGHHHHHH!!!!! I told him if it helped she could stop by any time she wanted. I don't want the horse, if Odie comes here, it's simply more work for me. I just thought it was the right thing to offer....PEOPLE ARE STUPID!!!!![]()
Ok rant is done...I might be a little more hostile than normal today...I like the old gentleman, it's his daughter that's the TWIT!!! I wonder if SHE tweaks and twerks? Might explain a few things??
As I said before I grew up with horses. We also had a neighbor up the Rd. that had some too. Every now and then I would have to get up in the middle of the night an go get our three horses from the neighbors. They would sneak out for a visit. Sometimes her horses came to our house for a visit. It seemed to alway happen in the middle of the night. In the wild they live in herds. It could be a knee jurk reaction from the older man. Hopefully when he thinks it over he will change his mind. If I were in your situation I would handle this in 1 or 2 ways. One would be to do exactly What you told the owner. You said you never see them so I see no problem. If they stopped by I would just say she keeps getting out and coming over and I couldn't spend all my time bringing her back. Or number two is get the daughters phone number call her at inconvenient times saying your horse is out you need to come get her from my house and bring her home. During the call you could tell her of your offer to let her stay. I would bet she wouldn't have a problem with it after one or two calls! I get really upset when people don't do what's best for there animals. I'll say a little prayer tonight that the older man will think things over and do what's right for this horse. Good luck let us know what happens. P![]()
I'm teasing you about the guineas...however, the recipe does look good!!!![]()
