OK, this whole site has been quiet lately, not just this thread. Did we fall in the twilight zone or something?
I am still used to my working days. I used to work 24-72 hour shifts and go to school. Just can't kick the habit. She loved it but it is just outside of Leesville. To the right of the loop about a mile down from the DMV to be exact. I don't want to live in that area, or have to go threw what Leesville attempts to call a road on a regular basis. It's a really nice propriety that was being used as pasture so I wouldn't have to clear any trees and it is a great price. I just don't want to be stuck in an area that I don't like. Every house that I have bought so far has had a detached in law for her, now I want to build and the design is not popular so it would be hard to sell. I don't know what happened to kuntrygirl, she is always on.What's up can't sleep? It is unusual not to hear from kuntrygirl since Friday. I hope everything is O K. Did your mom like the property you went to see?Pam

Yes, I would like the kids in a great school. I do want this to be my final move, and would love to build the house of my dreams. The plans I have in mind cost a pretty penny but wouldn't be a good investment. Thus, the lifetime home. I am close to the point right now that I will just buy whatever suits me and then when her health gets bad again make her move in. She is still young in my book but she has a long list of problems and her Dr. just wants to put her on more and more meds causing more problems. He likes me because I can provide at home care instead of her having to stay in a hospital, but hates me because I fight him tooth and nail about the meds and know what I am talking about. You have horses right? Kids? St. Tammany has the best school system in the state. Their are still country areas here. You'll fine something you love don't settle. Especially if you plan on staying. I have a detached mother in law/ guest house. I've been here 16 years, we built our dream house we probably won't sell for what it should we used all top of the line finishes. I still am content knowing how much we've lived and the fun we've had here. you can't put a price on that. Now if your not staying and using as a investment then you should rethink your plans. If I was buying more property I'd look for something with a natural spring on it.
This is how I got my sourdough starter going. Of course there are plenty of ways to do a starter. I just thought I would give one a try with the un-pasteurized apple cider vinegar. If its good enough for the chickens, its good enough for me, hahaha!
Combine all ingredients from above. Cover lightly with cheesecloth. Don’t put a lid on it because it needs the air to breath and grow. Set inside the cupboard for 8-10 hours. Mixture will be bubbling up gently and will have a separated appearance.
GF Sourdough Starter
½ tsp. Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar
½ tsp. Molasses
½ tsp. Active Dry Yeast
1 cup Filtered Water
¾ cup GF Flour Mix
Stir into the original mixture.
½ cup Filtered Water
½ cup GF Flour
FEEDING YOUR STARTER: Every 12 hours add ½ cup of GF Flour. Add ½ cup of Filtered Water every 2nd or 3rd time, depending on the thickness of the starter. After using part of your starter for baking feed it ½ cup of filtered water and ½ cup of GF Flour. Whisk well to combine.
