This is how I got my sourdough starter going. Of course there are plenty of ways to do a starter. I just thought I would give one a try with the un-pasteurized apple cider vinegar. If its good enough for the chickens, its good enough for me, hahaha!
GF Sourdough Starter
½ tsp. Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar
½ tsp. Molasses
½ tsp. Active Dry Yeast
1 cup Filtered Water
¾ cup GF Flour MixCombine all ingredients from above. Cover lightly with cheesecloth. Don’t put a lid on it because it needs the air to breath and grow. Set inside the cupboard for 8-10 hours. Mixture will be bubbling up gently and will have a separated appearance.
½ cup Filtered Water
½ cup GF Flour Stir into the original mixture.
FEEDING YOUR STARTER: Every 12 hours add ½ cup of GF Flour. Add ½ cup of Filtered Water every 2nd or 3rd time, depending on the thickness of the starter. After using part of your starter for baking feed it ½ cup of filtered water and ½ cup of GF Flour. Whisk well to combine.
