"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

What did you do? You come back and the site crashes for updates! (Shhhhh......I think they heard about the matches stash you have)

hee hee hee.

I'm glad that I didn't have many matches (but did have a lighter). I tried a new 21 day muscadine wine recipe and after taking a sip, I opened my mouth and I felt like a fire breathing dragon. That "shine" was so potent, I needed a fire extinguisher to get that fire out. I ain't trying that recipe again. The alcohol content had to be at least 50%. Geesh :/

Sorry about that. I'm back and ready to roll and cause the trouble that I normally stir up. :gig

How is that mama guinea Terri?

Did you lose time After drinking your moon shine? I'm going to check news reports for fire breathing dragons!!! With Satin's army running after it!,,

Good morning La-yers! boy this thread has died! How's everybody doing?

No sign of mama guinea. My cousins will be harvesting the soybeans this weekend so I'm hoping that flushes her out of hiding - if, she still is hiding & not dead. I"m really worried about her. The rest are all doing fine. I"m guessing the broodies should be hatching their eggs any day now.

The Wellie roo who is the bottom of the rooster list - he's the one w/the broken toe - he's decided to live under our carport. He follows Jim around like a dog. Doesn't have anything to do w/the flock whether they are free ranging or not. It's funny to see Jim outside & this roo wandering around after him. Jim named him Crip.

I'm going to stir the pot!!! However, it will be on something that I need to learn about. I'll post below...

I am going to "blue kote" my golden laced polish this morning...poor girl! Hopefully that will work.

Hey All... What's your thoughts on "common core" in the education system? My kids school has switched over to it this year, and I REALLY don't like some of what I'm seeing. In particular, there has been some funky Math! I need to educate myself more before I go to the school with this. I do know that people are very passionate about it...

When I went out yesterday morning to let the girls out, they were already out. It actually took me a moment to realize that I had not locked them up the night before. I was lucky, I counted beaks and everyone was there. The other morning the hardware cloth was bowed out on one of the coops as though something with hands tried to pull the coop door open (possum or coon??).
My bunnies came back from 2 days at the vet getting fixed. They had big appetites and twitched their noses to say in bunny language "whew, let's not do that again!"

So, we have found out that we fall apart without our esteemed leader, Kuntrygirl. Glad you are ok and back with us!!

My health insurance provides free gyms. So, this morning I will try "gentle yoga".

So, good morning. And, how are you.

People are up? I missed the memo... There is nothing common about common core, didn't you know common sense went out the window years ago. These kids are graduating HS knowing less than what I learned in kindergarten. It's just a ploy to buy a few more years without parents jumping down their throats. If there is anything you want your kids to learn it is best to teach them yourself and use school to teach them social skills (something the teachers have no control over).

Morning people!

I have a sickie home from school today. I think she is more exhausted than sick. Sometimes you just need to sleep it off. I am currently torturing her with Oktoberfest music on the "Sounds of the Season" channel. Hahaha!

Hubby helped me do some more cleaning on the coops yesterday. I still have a few things I want to do to the old one. I am just going to replace some wood in a couple of places. You just can't clean wood that too much water damage. He fed the girls their evening treat of mealworms. It was pretty funny since he NEVER does that. They attacked.....Pahaha!

The Neem treatment that was used on the chickens was equal parts neem and cold pressed virging sunflower oil. It was not fun for the hens that were older. They were seriously offended at being forced to hold still for a minute. I used a small plastic disposable pipette that I a bunch of for soaping. It was easy to do a single drop with the pipette. Each chicken received 4 drops total. One on the back of the neck, one under each wing and one under the tail. Each drop went onto the skin. When I treated I didn't see any egg clusters as I have seen mentioned on a lot of pages that I had read. And none of them seemed to be seriously infested. That was good news for me.

I am starting a blog.....

so that it will be easier to share things like gluten free recipes, gardening, canning recipes etc. I am getting plenty of requests from people on my fb for things like that.

Hope ya'll stay out of trouble today!

Glad the birds and bunnies are ok. Yes, we need her crazyness! Good luck with yoga, never tried it but it looks like it hurts with how they bend.
