"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I have a very pretty Bourbon Red Turkey hen about 7 months old, that I need a young tom to breed her with. If anyone has one for sale or trade, within a couple hours drive from me in 70466, please PM me? Thanks, Celie

Sounds like it will be sand. I'm not looking forward to the PEW PEW. Looks like I will be having buckets of fertilizer.

Now, I love sand for my coop but let me tell you...NOT for broilers! Too small to scoop at first and still smells. Waste of time! Get your compost ready, you will have more poo than you can handle.

What American accent do you have?

Your Result: Philadelphia 87%

Your accent is as Philadelphian as a cheesesteak! If you're not from Philadelphia, then you're from someplace near there like south Jersey, Baltimore, or Wilmington. if you've ever journeyed to some far off place where people don't know that Philly has an accent, someone may have thought you talked a little weird even though they didn't have a clue what accent it was they heard.
When I go on vacation, everyone mistakes my LA accent for NY, except for in the New England area! There they just want to hear me talk. HeHee
When my younger daughter turned 13, no one could tell her voice from mine, over the phone, but both are very recognizable from others in the family! Now my daughter's voice and her daughter's voice are the same, since my grand daughter turned 12! I wonder why ? I have an uncle and cousin that both look and sound exactly alike, just my cousin looks a little younger. Everyone else in the family have their own distinct voice. I wonder why?

I have a question! I would like to know what breed of chickens everyone is raising? EVERYONE IN LOUISIANA. I have EEs, Wheaten and Blue Wheaten Ameraucana, and I have Wheaten and Gold Duckwing Sulmtalers ordered for mid November. Thanks Eric

I was 80% Philly. When I moved to East TN, I drove into Farragut TN and stopped at a Weigel's (Circle K type store). When I heard how they talked I was stunned. It sounded so hillbilly. It sounded so strong. I did think it sounded funny. Everywhere I went for the next year or so people would ask me where I was from based on my accent. Then one day I noticed that no one asked that any more and I suddenly realized I was one of them. Lol. There were some Pronunciations that I never picked up like Alford was pronounced Alfred. And idea was pronounced ideal. But, other than a few words I was a hillbilly, and, btw, I loved it and loved them. I still say "aw law". As an exclamation, but I have lost my beloved hillbilly accent. I know bec when I came back to LA everyone asked me where I was from. Then one day I realized no one asked any more and knew I was a Louisianian again. Lol
That happened quickly, when family members moved to Mississippi, the younger ones quicker than the older ones!

I like it lol...while I have a billion things to do, watering gardens and yard work is not happening-Yay!
Hubby has the cast iron pulled out and is cooking up somethin amazing for a gloomy days dinner today! Double yay! Lol

He was building animal enclosures all night :/
Chickens are a gateway drug :P

I'm wondering what the silkie babies will come out like. Both of the parents I'm told are "Blue". But my roo has a fair amount of buff color now on the back of his neck. So I think he is called something else, not blue. I forget what its called. But I'm hoping with his buff and maybe she has something hidden that may throw us some neat looking babies. Maybe???
