"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Thank you guys for the advice and chuckles. I'm glad someone can laugh at my day yesterday, I sure couldn't. Today was a good day! Freezing cold and lightly raining so I locked mamma and chicks in the coop for the safety of the smaller one and added vitamins to the water. The smaller one was spending a good amount of time under mamma today (whereas outside being feathered it doesn't) and seemed to walk almost fine for the first min or two after coming out but then had the same problem with the leg until after it went under mamma again. I will be keeping an eye on it. I spent most of the day canning the chickens from yesterday and got to use my new (gift from last Christmas but never used) giant pressure canner. The thing is picky and holds pressure a whole lot better than my small one. I didn't dare to touch the truck today for anything, I wanted a good day today.

We got 'Snowball' the bunny who the owner swore was a doe, so we threw her in with Smokey the dwarf doe. Turns out Snowball is now Snowballs and Smokey is a momma. xD I was showing a visitor how you tell the difference and went to use Snowball as an example and was so surprised. I had always taken the previous owner's word and never looked.

The only animal I have ever gotten that was the gender the owner said it was was my rooster. By the time I got him he had 1" long spurs, loved the hens a little too much, and was "people aggressive". He is the best rooster that I have ever had! His 'tude changed when he came to my house. Everything else has been a gamble. Everything here earns it's keep, I am hoping that I have one of each of the bunnies so that I can breed them and raise their offspring for meat. If not, they will still work for fertilizer. I have them in what was my meat bird pen until I can re-build the hutch. I tore it down last month because it came with the house and I never thought I would have rabbits. That's life for you.

I have received a juvenile pair of GDW Sulmtalers today courtesy of Sunbird Farms.

Hahaha. Everytime one of the students at school had lice my head would start itching and I would have to have admin check my head. I never had it but there is something about the L word that does that. BTW, will someone come check my head, it's starting to itch. Lol
