"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

For some reason my pic's won't post. My Pom killed a possum this time I took chewed up pic's. The little bantam chicken has a crocked toe on one foot. I touched it it and moved it didn't seem to bother her.
I made soap yesterday. It was fun. I finally read the book I bought five years ago on making soap. Now I know what all the fuss is about . It's so much better than mass made. I put enough Shea and coco butter it's almost a lotion bar no dry feeling skin after you use it. My family and friends will love this as there Christmas gift. I like knowing what ingredients are in it and the quality of them. I used organic when I could. Every thing you use on your skin goes straight to your blood bypassing your digestive system. Thanks for the inspiration and the web site info Lemon. I'm looking forward to hearing how it worked out for Celie.

Don't feel bad. I'm embarrassed with you. Sand is ALL OVER THE PLACE in my chicken yard. It looks like the beach at my house. I tried putting sand in the nesting boxes but they hated it, so I had to take it out. :/

That's a lot of sand!! Everything looks so clean and neat. I love what you've done with your place.

Half my boxes are hay and half shavings. Mine have a preference and one would clean out the box before going in when I tried to go all hay. Don't you just love those girls. Lol

I accept no blame if you become addicted to making soap ;)

I really want to learn to make soap. That's why I want a good dairy goat come spring. I will have no idea what I'm doing but I really look forward to trying. What do you guys make soap out of? Where do you get your chemicals and supplies?

Too late. My PT has psoriasis and is allergic to almost everything . She found a soap that works to keep her psoriasis away. The only draw back is it cost 13.99 a bar. She has already sent me a link to the soap with all the ingredients she wants me to make a version of it for her. That's my next bar I'll make. Ron has extreme dry skin she gave me a sample to see if it would work for him. It healed his skin. So you won't be blamed they are great full and so am I . That's a lot of coin she'll be saving. Pam

I have psoriasis and hypothyroid that leaves my skin so dry that even water or the wind makes it feel like it is on fire. Tar or steroid creams, soaps, and shampoos hurt like the dickens! Lemon makes a White Silk soap that has helped me. I have been using it for 5 days and things are bearable for me right now. I haven't felt bearable in decades! I am hopeful that it will at least make me a mild case instead of a severe one. Something to look into...

I had no idea either. I had a book to read. I use organic or wild crafted oils, butters, and organic therapeutic food grade essential oils. I'm making cold process soap. When you add your food grade lye to water the chemical reaction causes it to get hot. I let it cool to 115 degrees or cooler. This keeps the lye from cooking out antioxidants, vitamins, etc. I use olive, avocado, coconut, grape, Argon, Palm etc. I buy extra virgin cold process oils. I use a few sites . Google soap making supplies. www.essentialdepot.com has a kit with everything pre- measured for a first try. They have videos before I made my first batch I watched a video on u-tube. The video helped a lot. I have a essential oil PDR I'm using that for scent and therapeutic effect. Essentialdepot has sales right now. Their Shea and coco butter is organic and top quality. Their essential oil is 30% off right now. Pam
