"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

OK, all you "LURKERS" please jump in and join the conversation. I promise we are not nearly as scary as we sound. We all have a good sense on humor. Tell us about what you're cooking/baking for the holidays OR what brilliant thing you did today! I ALWAYS do at least ONE REALLY SMART thing a day!!!

For those of you with kids (heck, there are even adult ones), this is a FREE video message from SANTA. You customize it to your child. It is absolutely wonderful!! My girlfriends and I even send them to each other. They do offer you "upgrades" for a fee, but just click no. They do a great job and the kids get one every year. It only takes a few minutes to make it and then they will email it. Grandparents can make them too.

Good luck!

I'd ovate you twice for that if I could!

Nobody make fun. You will EAT your words. I'm sure most people have some version on this, but in case you don't...

WHITE TRASH

2 heaping cups rice crispies
2 heaping cups captain crunch
2 heaping cups mixed nuts
1 pkg. of white almond bark (blue pkg at Walmart) Chop up and place in bowl to melt in microwave.

Melt bark in microwave (gently). Pour over mixture. Mix gently until everything is covered in the white bark. Spread out in a thin layer on wax paper. You can drop by the spoonful, however, when in a rush I spread out and break it up when it dries.

I buy all the ingredients at Walmart. I use store brand. This is "white krack"!! My entire kitchen table is covered with wax paper and I'm cranking this stuff out. I feel slightly ill right now because I have eaten so much of it.

This is a great recipe to do with kids. They have a blast mixing and spreading it out. You can also add foodcolor if you want to add more work.

The BEST!!!!

I can't believe I am going to say this. At this moment I am sick of baking!!! UGH!!! SiCK! I get a break though to go watch the Christmas program at my little ones school. That will cheer me up for sure!

This mornings work. Triple layer chocolate cake with raspberry filling and covered in Chocolate Ganache. And a triple layer Carrot cake with Cream cheese icing.

OMG I'm outside of Shreveport. Where do you live again? Hmmm?

I guess since we are talking baking, I'll share a cake that I made on accident that had family members squabbling like starved dogs over a steak to get the last pieces of. No pics. though. I was trying to make something else, added too much butter which messed the taste up so said "Screw it. I'm not wasting these ingredients, I'm making a cake."

2 cups of coconut flakes
1/2 cup of butter
24 oz can of condensed milk
1/4 cup of crushed walnuts
1/4 cup of crushed almonds
1 cup of sugar
1 large egg
1 box of white cake mix
melted caramel

Mix it all together and bake at 350 for about 50 minutes. (I used a small square pan) Drizzle melted caramel on top.
