"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I just went to the web site of the mill they use it Arizona . I liked to fell out of my chair. The layer food was 9.80 a sack that was for people buying local. One sack with estimated shipping was 23.an some odd cents. They offer bulk orders you need to contact for pricing. That's in Montana . I wonder if war eagle in Arkansas does feed it would be closer so cheaper shipping. I also want to check that one foreverlearnig was talking about in Texas . We are going to visit friends we could pick it up on the way home if the price is rite. If anyone else knows of any mills that have organic grains let me know all ideas welcomed. Just trying to figure this out with the best quality feed for the cheapest amount of money and shipping. Pam

One of the AZ BYC members has had a cougar/puma/mountain lion helping its self to dinner with her turkeys and chickens. I looked up big cats in Louiseana. There has been quite a few sittings however only a couple conferred. One was in Vernon Parish, Louisiana. Panthers and leopards have been escaped or dumped illegals pets. A problem every state and counrty. Has anyone had experience with a cougar, or know of someone? Heard about them becoming established? Amoung the predictors the big cats, black bear and grizzly, :hide I would not handle my self with out a Weatherby 7MM w/scope or equivalent and not alone (I would prefer to be back up position). I had to face 2 legged predictors twice, that is twice to often. I can not say what is more dangerous..... I think the 2 legs, they are more un dependable. I was just wondering about Louisiana big cats.

I trust alligators 100% to be a cold blooded lizard. Break a rule you are going to lose. Make an assumption, you are going to lose. They are best dealt with by experts that really know them. Otherwise I have always been cool with them. I know and have gotten little ones (6' from nose to tail) to back down with a long cane pole whipped on the tip of the nose. I still will not assume this will always work. Preference, I will leave them alone, unless........ I do not like wild gatter meat, it is too fishy. Not on my hunting list.

Could you imagine!? Good they pre paid BUT what if they bail!? No...she IS smarter than that. I'm sure she has it all squared away. Where I picked up there was a van of 5000/ left to be picked up minus my 50

Oh I've seen pumas myself. The last one was about a year ago in Kisatche National Forest, not very far from me. There aren't a ton of them, but they ARE here and not just as escaped pets. I even saw a black jaguar once as a kid. Scared the hell out of me. The most likely wild cat you will come across is a bobcat.

I've heard of bob cats being a problem. I have never seen one except on tv. Our bob cats are small compared to big cats. They are a little bigger than domestic cats. In some areas coyotes are on the rise. I haven't seen one in my area. You will have problems with opossums and raccoons more than anything else. Maybe a dog too. Pam

I agree. Coons n opossums are issues. I've lived all over and they're the worst here. Just keep coming no matter how many we dispatch.
Gators are cold blooded yes but I read them better than a bear. They hiss and let you know they've had nuff if you're actually head to head. It's the size...and power but not a predator problem for the majority. I think I read Louisiana has the most dangerous concentration of creatures that can kill of the states. Maybe it was 2nd to Florida...but snakes, gators, insects, spiders and fungus made the deadly list lol

But its really not that bad. Just on paper lol still one of the prettiest states I think! And I'm not a native :) Cali born makes me unbiased lol

I had a pet gator when I was a kid. I played with that gator all the time. It got to big for the aquarium so we put him out in a old concrert pool we had on the property. It wouln't hold water. One day I went out to get him he was gone. I made my whole family search our 2 acer property for him with me.We found him. Something got him and bit him in the neck. As s kid I thought it was a cat that got him. Now I think it was a coon. Pam

Um totally interested, we almost went and bought a ton...but can't store a ton :/

There are a few people interested . Maybe we can figure it out . The one in Arizona came up when I googled it. I think I'll contact the man that started it and ask how he did it. From what I read they take orders and get deliveries every two weeks. We do have quite a few people that have a lot of animals to feed. If we could get everyone together I'm sure the bigger the order. Cheaper the bill. Pam

If you all come up with any ideas, I'm in.
? Scott with Big Sky? It is 2 to 3 trucks every other month. I use Big Sky, next month I hope to order food grains kernels.
