Around NO there is a good following of voodoo/hoodoo that uses them as a blessing but they have strict requirements as to how, where, what foot, and what moon phase they are culled in. They have been used as part of a tarot setup but not across the board. Many use them as good luck charms both blessed and not blessed, mostly being sold as key chains. I am sure there are many more reasons for using them but when anything is said to be used for magic they tend to stick to that reason no matter what else it could be used for on the search engines. Many people are open to talk about what they use the items they buy for, all you can do is ask in the nicest way possible.

Is that where the whole chicken feet thing came from? Now there are people that use them as charms, eat them, and use them in blessings. Who would have thought something so small could be used for so many things?

Exactly! I don't know anything about voodoo or Wicca or anything like it. But like I said I 'm curious about other cultures etc. I would just ask nicely. Pam

NO! honey is the olny food that doesn't go bad. No fridge required. Pam

Don't forget MUSTARD, no refrigeration needed, but does have a shelf life though it is long as heck....oh and margarine! Like Country Crock etc. All made with a by product of plastic...up here, they have it out in the aisles of Walmart and Brookshires....never gets refrigerated even at the stores!!

I am happy to sell them, not at all bothered by what most people would do *and just wouldn't bother being 'curious' if it was icky to me...lol to each their own (I've seen some crazy stuff in my travels lmao) just curious, but not having a substantial interest I feel could come off as insulting.
I will ask on her 1st pick up if she's friendly in person lol

I wouldn't ask her rite now but when she picks them up I would just say I'm curious about how you would do blessings with rabbits feet. Most people are open to talking about themselves. Your happy to sell them no matter what she says, right? Pam

I would need some costs before committing. We are mixing our own but need BULK at a better price.
I'll need a lot if all goes well.

We wanna bang out many batches a year (standing monthly order of meaties is the plan we're on batch 3 now lol) , they consume i'd guess (don't have my numbers here with me) 600lbs of feed in 2-3 months time each set of 25-37 I've done so far and we were over feeding at first. These last two weeks with set #2 will give me a better number of start to finish birds consumption.

I gotta bring feed cost down and Spring free ranging will help A LOT. So I'm definitely interested if we can get the price low enough! I'll try and get you more accurate pounds I would need tomorrow, working late tonight and again at 5am tomorrow so I won't see my notebook til tomorrow afternoon lol

DONT LAUGH... but, at first, when my son would mow grass for neighbors, we used a bagging mower...and brought the grass home for the chickens. We would pour some chunks IN the coop so when I shut the door, they nibbled a little each evening before 'bed' plus it added to the coop 'flooring' i use which is leaves and pine straw. Now they still foraged all day being totally free ranged, BUT that burst of running after you when you open the coop door, STARVING for food LOL. I would mix the cut grass with the feed, it helped stretch it.
A friend recommended I leave the grass in the bags, and pull out daily what I needed so the grass didn't dry out too fast and it was great. They loved it. Just an idea, to help the feed go farther. I know I use fresh cut grass each time we mow.... for SOMETHING for these babes...

Man I have soooo many questions for her now lmao...I won't dare ask cuz, well i can come off blunt or even offensive not meaning too Sometimes and she sounds so sweet. .

Think it'd be rude to ask FOR a blessing? I'm thinking maybe ya :/ she has a thick southern accent/'drawl'? I'm from Cali...melting pot of curious people. Curiosity isn't always nice, so I'd better check with people who will give it to me straight!

My first thought was voodoo. Not that I have ANY knowledge of it.
