"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

In AZ we apparently have few NPIP certified coops. It is extremely difficult to get them out to you. This is a desert in more ways then one. I guess it is a matter of numbers. To few coops to certify to pay. That is all I can figure. I, personally like to purchase from NPIP coops when reputation is unknown. If you are willing to go the extra mile the assumption is you take better care of your flock.
{on page 2884 now--- slow down on the posts..... I have things I need to do. My IPad keeps crashing}. :gig

Go back and catch up, we'll wait here giggling and farting while you catch up. Pam

Thanks Terri and Pam. I will try those out. I buy dog shampoo for sensitive skin but it still seems to set her off. Always treat for fleas, have never seen one on any of my animals, but I know what you mean about being careful about that.

Hansons has different shampoos for skin conditions. If you go to the pet guys and it says out of stock call them they will order and get it to you really fast. My dogs love zukes z ridge bones. They cost 17 bucks a bag everywhere at petguys 10 a bag. They have really good prices. Their kong toys are cheaper too. Pam

Depends on how well mine lay – remember this is their first year & I only have the two girls – but should have a high percentage of whites & pieds to sell!

I wished y'all happiness, health, and WEALTH for the new year!!!!! I think it will happen faster than you think!! Pam

Met Mary, my Buff Orpington. I was concerned because she was # 12 in the picking order of 12 pullets and hens. The grow out pen was moved and 2 sides are not 100% protected. 4 of the chicks got out from under the pen in the front. So I let Mama out, and this is what happened in the first seconds. I wasn't ready for the explosion. I am no longer worried. She even attacked Thelma. I have 3 alpha pullets. Those are the ones she attacked.
Thelma is the one that trimmed Mary's comb. I heard the commotion, and got Thelma to back off. She had her trapped and really picking her hard. I contemplated a Thelma Roast. I put Blue Kote on it and it healed nicely.

He did get the goathead. I hope you didn't waste the rest of the goat. You know how we feel about animal waste. I mean to use a goathead just to get on a FB page. Pretty high price. JS

I had butchered a goat. At the time I was going to collage and shared a clase with a woman from Central Africa. I asked her if she wanted the head when I butchered it. The whole thing turned into a party. I had a lot of help. One of my new friends collected the blood for a dish from home. The Brest plate I leaned was for the use. The heir burned and scrapped, then place right on the hot coals to cook. It was seasoned liberally with Lawry's Seasoned Salt. :gig I learned Lawry's is a must in African cooking from the All across Central Africa including Nigeria.

It was fatty and unbelievably delicious. Back to the goat head soup. The hair burned and scrapped, then it was tenderized, completely. The now mass, held to gather by the skin was put in the pot, vegetables added a long the way until dune. I looked in the pot, part of the ear was standing out of the stew, an eyeball floated on top. Bits of bone and other parts of the head. Only the eye hit me morbidly. To this day I do not know why, it just did. Floating in red? Maybe?

It was eaten with FUFU. There are other names for it. It is a corn meal that is used like bread. Corn meal is mixed with hot water with a pinch of salt (optional) and s.
Worked until it is firm bit not hard. You pinch of a pice make a divot in it and scoop out the stew with it. How to eat fufu:
As the provider of the goat an eye was offered. I was fought off balance. Goat eyes are still on my list of foods I must try, and try to eat. I inversion roasted, not stewed.

Gumbo, being a true Cajun dish may have been eaten this way by new arrives here in the 1700 -1800's. It would be fun to try it.

If you do try it, you are to wash your eating hand before starting. One or two people come around with a bowl, water and towel to wash your hand. If you touch anything not food you must wash again or you are considered inappropriate.

Fufu were corn is not available

That is so sweet! Not the fighting glad she had a mothers instinct. The mother getting her chicks to safety. Now I want a cream legbars and for them to have chicks! Great video! Pam

You had me till you saw the floating eye! I don't like my food looking back at me. In gumbo the only eyes are shrimp they don't look like eyeballs. You are a very interesting person. I couldn't leave my animals behind if I moved. I hope your able to bring yours when the time comes. Pam
