"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

We have inches    I moved here to get away from this kind of weather.  But every few years Mother Nature insists on giving me a good dose of the white stuff.  Maybe I will get some pics in a little.

In BR we have a bare dusting and ice. Not using heat lamps, their coops are bundled and i'm able to put a thick layer of clean newspaper in the bottom of their coops when they went to bed last night. The only water that was frozen was their outside water. I could be wrong, but it felt colder when we had that really cold few days a few weeks ago. That was when I would change their water and a few hours later it was frozen. The house roofs look cool. Wish we had more snow here. It's just so rare.

My hens are not amused. Only 2 would come out. They just stood there like a statue staring for 2 minutes, then promptly went back in the coop.

Got a few inches here. I put a heat lamp in the coop because of the chicks and this morning they flew out of the coop just to beg to get back in. My flock hasn't seen snow until today and when they flew out they all hit the snow with both feet and beak and gave me the stink eye. The chicks went back in the coop and the bigger members are roosting on the swing set to warm their feet. I left the entrance to the meat pen open and found a bunch of small wild birds in there this morning. At least they got to get out of the wind.

Yeah my regular chickens are out in it carrying on like there's no problem. the expensive pretty prettys are still standing in the barn with that look the resembles the same expression a Brammer calf has about a new lot gate.

From what you guys have gone threw is it easier to integrate already grown pullets or start chicks? I have the area to separate and brood so space is not a problem. I need to add to the flock and want it to be as easy as possible on the pecking order.

Joining your recipes? I hope she isn't just trying to get you to share your proven recipes..........maybe hers aren't that great.
I have thought of that, but she is post proven... I checked. It's just that I blend fruits, and she does straight fruits...PLUS, it would be her business name, license, and logo. Just a thought anyway. I would actually make MY own, and her hers... then join up at occasions to sell. Since there is only certain fruits I have access to easily...
So far, it's just chatter. But she has been established for years... so we will see.

It's beautiful! slept until 8 & been outside in my jammies taking pics -- all of my animals are just fine - hens won't come out of the coop. Carmen put one foot out & let out a SQUAWK! WHAT IS THIS?! I laughed so hard -- they are snugged up in there eating their fool heads off. Sounds like a plan to me; think I'll go rustle up some bacon & eggs...the whole city is shut down here so this is a free day off with pay! and a 3 day weekend -- I am blessed & going to take advantage of every minute of it -- have to get dressed & down to the bayou to take some more pics.

My phone started ringing at 5:00 AM and that woke me up. So, I decided to go out and check on the animals . All of the animals are safe. No casualties at all . THANK GOD!!!!!!!!!!! I went back to sleep.

They are advising to stay off the words. You only have to tell me once. I'm chilling out today. :D

Good snowy morning peeps. This is what it looks like at my place. It's snowing in Opelousas. They are advising to stay off of the road. Supposed to be 70% chance of rain. I'm worried about the animals. How is everyone else doing this morning?
we have about 2-3 inches in the back yard. WOW is that a Mercedes? Dang girl, I didn't know you were in such high cotton! :lau
