I did end up having a gosling hatch that had both legs stuck out to the back like that. We tried all kinds of things to get the legs into a usable position, but nothing worked. We had to cull the little guy

I don't think it was spraddle leg though. Some other kind of deformity

Good luck on the food hunt. I will hopefully be able to buy feed in bulk once we get moved. Feed prices are OUTRAGEOUS right now!

Evening my fellow Louisianians. I've come to the conclusion that my chicks really do love me. I take them out every day once or twice to play in the back yard, and if I walk away from them they cry. When I come back they all fly over to me. They don't do this to my hubby, haha. Then when I sit with them, they all jump on my lap and try to eat my freckles. I know, I know... they all associate me with treats, but it is still cool they differentiate me from my hubby. Tonight I fed them mash potatoes, and they liked it okay. What they really like is the cake part from fignutens (can't spell that).
I wanted to ask about this strange thing my chicks do. They like fall asleep in mid walk. They fall on their side all dramatic like...and I was thinking they were playing dead? Do they do that? It is really funny to watch. Also, they all play fight, and I was wondering if hens and roosters do this? Can't wait till I can put a gender to em.

I won an auction the other day on ebay for 6+ chocolate turkey eggs.
The eggs arrived today and get this..The people sent me 14 eggs
and all arrived in great condition.
Now if they will just develop and hatch .

Hope you can get your get cheaper. There is a place in Port Allen that some friends get their cattle feed from, not sure if they sell the feed you need. Will try to find out what the name of the place is!!
