"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Do you ever wish that you could "OVATE" or at least respond to an "OVATION"???

Yes I do think if I didn't do something for shade it would be too hot.  But there are trees for afternoon shade.  And part of the order I got from FarmTek was 80% shade cloth.  They have great prices on remnants.  So that is going to be above their area.

As well as the ventilation.....its hard to explain how that's going to work without the pictures, lol.  Fans front and back if necessary as well.  And the air is going to flow the opposite as well, from under the eve all the way down both sides.

Sounds nice can't wait to see pics.

It remains to be seen if there are any unknown flaws in the design.........we really tried to think everything through. But you never know. We haven't done this ever before so.......if we do make any critical errors we will just have to take our licks and fix the problem. I hope it works as planned though!

Thats the same thing we tried to do plus thinking of ways to make it easy on the body as we age! Y'all will do a great job as you do with everything you make! I was just checking b/c I had a green house in the summer even the plants didn;t like it. But you thought it through. I'll find out next week if we need any modifcations. I just like seeing how other people do it too. At treasure hunt in Miss> they had a ton of rain barrels for 1/2 price last month if they still have some they will be discounted more. You can check the web they might have one closer to you.

We had a minute right before dark to do one bag of concrete for my walkway that is going through the center of our new Chicken Barn. We have never done anything like this before. I think I am really going to like it!

I had fun trying something new.
where did the mold come from that you used?
Im interested in doing this

We got it from Lowe's. We used the Quikkrete mold, Quikrete and 2 colors of Quikrete colorant. After looking at this link I am posting below you will see how much practice I need! Lol!! We used the 2 colors so it has a little more of a natural mottled color pattern. Since the stones come out separate I can switch around stones later before we fill in the cracks with sand. That way the colors are even spread out between the whole walkway. You are supposed to mix the color into the water before you mix it with the Quickrete. We didn't read that until it was already mixed

but I think it was for the best anyway. I don't think it would have worked as well to try to do 2 separate batches. We will probably do it the same way as we did last night.

This link has a list of all the things used and links to them on their website. There are a few different colors or you could do it plain.

Hey guys! I have a proposition for ya'll. Here's what I posted on Facebook: "I'm planning on ordering some show quality Rhode Island red chicks from old lines that will come in around the week of May 19. I have to order a large number to ship. Would anyone be willing to split the order with me? I'll be paying the whole order, then giving half to whoever wants them ( 10 straight run chicks) for the price they were sold to me for, which is $8 a chick. You wouldn't have to pay for shipping and handling. If a third person wants to join in, the two of you could divide up the ten chicks. You won't have to pay until we meet. This are VERY nice birds from Mohawk/Reese lines. I can give you more info if wanted." I just don't have any need for twenty birds, and was wondering if anyone would want some. Some photos of the 2012 parent stock:
What a difference between them and production RIR. My primrose is DEFINATELY pet quality RIR. those are beautiful.
