I also use fermented feed now and then to add probiotics. I haven't fed dairy very often. But I have read that there are some chickens that the traditional way they are "finished" is by feeding them corn and milk for the week or two before they are butchered. I think its the Bresse chickens in France??? Maybe I have the breed wrong. But they are very serious about the way they finish their meat birds.

Thanks, glad to find the locals, My wife takes care of all the animals, 3 or 4 of the grand kids and works full time and taking online college courses at NW, for business management, in fact she has got to go to NW Thursday for her finals, and i get to come home and see the chicks and her for 14 days, the Australorp's are only about 5 weeks old so i don't really knowWelcome topdog, glad to have you. woe now, lets just slow down here, i forgot to mention the Easter Bunny named John my grandson has in my chicken yard with the BPR's they all think he is a chicken and so does heAnd we have one in the running to pass Kuntrygirl! So... you now need peas, turkeys, ducks, throw in a few goats and maybe a cow or two and you'll be set...
