"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

It's stopped raining here...I went OUTSIDE to slop around!!!  It was either that or torture my kids some more.  We ALL went outside!!:weee :weee

Here too! I checked my worms gave them some coffee grounds. Looked at the garden for damage we have a lot of downed limbs overnight.. Crakednut are you near 6th ward? If so their is a farm called grow farm they sell at the coventon farmers market. If you are near them you could buy produce very close to home. Pam

We must be in the same general area!
I buy my feed from Petrus. It's always fresh since they mill it there.
Extra eggs go to coworkers and Manna House.

I also buy from Petrus!

Pam: I would just like to say thank you so much for the styrofoam tip on my incubator. It worked!! I was able to put the fan back in and didn't even have to up the bulb wattage from 75. Humidity is staying between 25 and 35% while temp is sitting at a steady 99. Do y'all think the humidity is too low or ok for now until later on in the process of incubating?

what is it you are sprouting?

I tried the My Pet Chicken mix first, but it didn't grow tall enough. (Maybe it will now after the rain). Last year I tried buying grass seed but all I could find had chemicals in it. Then I noticed that tall grass grew under my wild bird feeders so I bought organic wild bird seed and it grew really well through the screens. (I took the screen out of the frames and replaced it with hardware cloth which has bigger holes to grow through). So recently, just before the rain I used the wild bird seed again and it's coming along. Last year it grew so tall they made tunnels in it and the chickens and bunnies would eat it and use it to get shade, hide and play.

I am in Alex every 3 weeks for my ob/gyn appointment so I always stop by and get what I need to last at least a month. I am also over there in between those 3 weeks at least once so if I get low earlier than expected I will stop by then as well. After I have the baby I'm not sure how often I will be in the area so am looking for other ways to get feed. Thought about Azure Standard but I would still have to drive to Alexandria once a month to meet for delivery, so I'm lookin into getting feed shipped to my home. Just haven't found anywhere that offers a decent price with the shipping that would only cost about the same as driving to Alex or less. I hate getting out of the house for too long so I'm willing to pay a little extra for the convenience of not having to leave.
