"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Fans have helped me immensely, I have a lot of water around us we can't control. Mosquito dunks help with that but not much.
I have lemon balm, lavenders, rosemary, oregano, thyme, sage, marigolds, mum, geraniums and a ton of bug eating fish in the ponds. We still get attacked so if it IS helping, I couldn't imagine the swarms we would have with out them planted. So o dunno, but they're all edible so worth having plants growing!

I hung traps of a 2liter with backing soda and a lil vinager...bubbly gas is one of the attractions but they are attracted to heat (body heat) more so if there is a warm meal near by the traps don't work but caught a few. Fly strips. Netting or shear curtains (goodwill!) May be our next step if I see they're getting worse.

The fans help a lot tho.
Okay, so I got the curtains sewed, two sections with a separation between for them to get into the nesting shelves.  Not sure, may have to use a tie to tie back the parts by the sections where they would enter.  Looking at others who have used curtains and seems like what I may have to do.

Mosquitos are getting pretty darn bad. Im putting in a box fan, pointing toward the laying shelves.  This won't deter them from laying will it?
Okay, so, I can't buy anything.  BUT, I need more ideas on what to do for the mosquito problem. Here is what I have:

No standing water near, ACV kept in the chickens and dogs water bucket.
Box fan going in one corner but bldg is 10 wide X 12 long X 8 high
Fresh cut grass and dried leaves on coop floor, poo is a problem tho...
No way to air it out anymore, bldg made of tractor trailer doors, so no adjusting those. Entrance door is one of those, so it is large. Kept open.
Grass in yard is cut short, no grass just dirt 4 feet in front of bldg.
Nearby trees supply shade on 1/2 of the bldg.  No sunlight reaches inside it at all.

Okay, so ideas?  I have vinegar, jars of minced garlic, Sevin Dust and a spice rack well stocked.
Really need some help on this, googled the crap out of this but want to hear tried and true...

Gardens doing well. Watermelons starting to fruit, getting 4/5 toms & cucumbers a day, tons of cherry tomatoes and green beans. Carrots are so sweet :) cayenne peppers are starting to color up and I've started a ton of new bumber crops in the greenhouse. Pulled a bunch of clones off the tomatoes plants and have started rooting them for a bumber crop. So much home grown food I'm loving it. Purple and gold tomatillio plants are huge and hopefully give us some great fruit for salsas!

I know one thing that really works that's misquote magnet. They cost a lot they don't last as long as they should. The co. Has changed owners so maybe they last longer now. I think that's going to be our anniversary gift. In 6 weeks they collapse the population in an acre or more depending on witch modal you buy. With yet another disease from misquotes I don't want to take chances. Pam

Beautiful!! I have a whole instagram devoted to our garden. Yours is much bigger than ours though.

I found an 18 week pullet dead today. :/ I don't know what happened. I did notice her yesterday sitting in the corner of the run, but it was a shady spot so I thought she was just cooling off. I found her today stretched out stiff in the same spot. The rest of my birds look perfectly fine. Do you guys think it was the heat? Their run is completely shaded except for early in the morning, and they have plenty of room and fresh water. I do have turkeys adjacent to them, but I dearly hope that wasn't the cause
