This is my aviary 2 years ago and is completely closed with chicken wire. Yes it keeps out predators when applied right

I need a new pic of it now lol it grew and almost finished out.
The hardware cloth is to keep critters from grabbing anything close to the edge and dragging what it can get ahold of threw the wire

Thats also why you should bury the wire a minimum of a foot deep so nothing can dig under.

So would you use chicken wire for just a run with netting over it ?

All I used is chicken wire for my run and for the top!! So yes I would.

No prob! And on the chicken wire, there is a place close where I live in Baton Rouge that posts on CL sometimes and they sell rolls that are double what they sell for at home depot and it's a little bit cheaper! I've been debating whether I was going to put welded wire or chicken wire on my new run when we build it. My fence is made out of welded wire and it doesn't take much to pop those welds. and with the openings being 2x4 I think I would feel much safer with chicken wire!!

I saw on another thread yesterday where a rattlesnake was coming through the chicken wire . I just think 19 gauge 1/2 welded wire is best . What is CL ?
