"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Does my nesting box have to be inside of the coop? Is it ok as long as it is in the run? It would probably be easier for us if we didn't have to build the additional traditional nesting box onto the regular square coop that we will be making.
It can be stand alone or backed against an outside wall, you will need to let them out early so they can go to the nest to lay, they may lay right after daylight or any time after, i have some that lay before 7 am and some that lay thorugh day middle of the day and one or two that lay about 2 hrs before dark.

My coop door stays open, they come out when they wake. It is inside of the run.

Well, am I tired!!!!! Just got back from Jennifer Maddens wedding. Now she is Jennifer Black. A truly touching wedding. I never cry but I did. I'm so proud of her. I told her to take a picture of us to put on BYC. So she did.

A very nice country wedding and good food. Beautiful. Now I'm going to sit a while and imbibe a beverage. I left before the beer and karaoke came out.

I had a truly weird 58th birthday today. I went to Walmart to pick up some things -- including prescriptions - but their computers were down & they said they couldn't just give me our prescriptions because they had to 'find them" on the computer -- well, hello? they are hanging on the wall just in back of you? They told me ALL of the registers were down & honestly? I started to just walk away from my basket - but I noticed a couple of cashiers were open & so I went & stood in line some more & finally got checked out - almost 2 hours after I'd walked in the store.

when I opened the Books-A-Million store here, years ago, those blasted computer cash registers went down - & they had to send the parts by BUS - yes, the OLD DAYS! - and in the meantime, I pulled out the cash drawers & gave each cashier & calculator, pen & pad & had them record every sale -- yeah. It wasn't fun, it wasn't 100% accurate, but we kept sales & customers flowing -- so don't tell me frickin' Walmart could not have a Plan B in place -- I am going to send district management my opinion, for what it's worth & I realize probably nothing.

Then I went to the Tobacco Plus to top off my car & their pumps were all out of order! -- So I guess there was some major computer issue on that side of town. In disgust, I went to PetSmart & Albertson's to finish what I could of the morning's errands. then I came home, unloaded groceries & went to work to finalize payroll for our 60+ employees. Got home around 1:00.

The man we periodically hire to do heavy yard work showed up at 2:00, so there went the entire afternoon - but wow the yard looks so nice now! he still has to come back tomorrow morning to finish up the fence line.

we had takeout fried chicken for supper -- not the "surf & turf" I bought -- but it'll still be here for hopefully tomorrow nights' supper.

Jim did an absolutely outstanding job on the new coop door -- I dont' even have to go into the pen to open or close it -- it's on a pulley so I can just stand outside & work it from there! So overall, not a totally lost birthday! -- maybe tomorrow I can get in a nap..
