Barredbabies yes we process about 3-400 at a lick . Usually 5 or six rounds each year and eat great through the year.
Just so every one knows Like I have posted before Most of what I raise is for camp kenmore. I do have alot of pets that are off that list but not as many as are on it

And yes I only raise GG and Butler Bobwhites. Have tried most the others and just dont care for them.

Beautiful Mike!! I really can't understand why I didn't make mine bigger since I
have plenty of room!! Well, yea I can... Hey, I'm just gonna get a few birds for
fresh eggs!! YEAH right!!

That's why I decided to basically start all over. To build it exactly like I want it and MUCH bigger!!

Here's a pic of my pasture

You see the small oak I circled with yellow?? I'm going to move the fence to my back yard right past that tree and put my new coop & run right beofre it. I guess that's giving me about 200 - 300 more feet. Most people wonder why I've fenced my backyard in instead of leaving it open. I like the security that I have when I let my dogs out. Their fearless (except when it comes to thunder storms!) and have gone after coons, coyotes, etc. Their Yorkies for goodness sake!

By moving it I will able to build probably a 40 ft coop area, 10 ft for each section and make the runs 30 or 40 ft long. I want them to have plenty of room!!

Missi, you have tons of space out there to do a lot of building. I can surely understand you wanting to fence your backyard to keep your babies from running off. I love the idea of the 40ft coop.

Thanks Julie! This time I really hope to do things right. Plus I love the look of your brooders/broody coops and would like to build some of those and have the extra room. And mind you this is all stuff that I will eventually work towards!!

Yes you need to keep them seperate but I am one of them harcore no mix tolerance types

The butlers get big but can take 2 years to grow to full potential and mainly for me are sale birds. I have a project pen that may be getting dropped soon if it doesnt get better with the 2 trying to get a little bigger faster but isnt really panning out and I need the room.
I personally prefer the GG they grow to process in 10-12 weeks with a good size bird.

Thanks Kuntrygirl thats some of my GG breeders

Yep great meat good size bird. Coturnix are faster growing and easier to raise but are a darker meat and thats the only reason I dont raise them. Try each and you can decide for yourself but I want to raise what I personally enjoy eating
