I was wandering if coutrix tend to only mate innpairs or if they go for anyone because I have four females but the male Only mates with one of the females

bhazell they should breed among all the hens. I run mine in trios at the most though 1 roo 2 hens but mostly 1 to 1. Coturnix and bobs will or should breed non monogamously.
I do have a few colony pens but keep my ratios still 1x2 even there. I generally dont sell or hatch eggs from these unless running short but doesnt happen often. Fertility is still very high with this method but cant equal battery breeders.

WOW everybody's been so busy on this thread! Mike that's a fantastic set up you have! Julie your geese are sure growing up fast! Twiley neat about how you got your name, & love your place too!

I am up to my ears in tomatoes so pulled out the old Victorio setup so I can process them. Also have 2 batches of plum jelly/jam to put up. Have a good rest-of-the-weekend everybody!
