Well, I guess I'm really in a sharing mood today, probably because I'm procrastinating "real" work.

You can see my FBCM in the background here. She's getting a nice hen shape!

I took these yesterday to illustrate my most and least favorite parts of having porch chickens. They spend all of their "down time" on the porch. Sometimes we talk about adding nest boxes, and sometimes we talk about putting up a fence so our porch is poop free. Right now I just hose it off periodically.

My SS girls this morning. Eloise (middle) is really starting to look grown up. I had to look twice before I realized it was her and not the third hen.

Nice "porch chickens".
We had that problem with a female peacock we had years ago. She had imprinted on people & was constantly at the back door & would come inside the house if she could.

Oh, ok. Well, there are a few with really nice looking BCM here. n Louisiana. Check out their fb page. Black Copper Marans Fanciers is the name. There is a guy named Dean that his look great. Others too.

Dean is on there and is great guy. I have fbcm that I bought eggs off ebay and hatched in August. Hopefully they will start layn by the end of January. I have a roo That i got from a friend so be lil different blood line mix. I've got to find time to build breeding pens. I also got a birchen marans roo from a different friend and have couple dozen eggs in bator due Monday that I'm hatching on halves with him.
