Your welcome Pam
Anyone care to show their ugliest chicken?? Lol. I have a real ugly girl right now! She was broody, then not. Thought about molting. Then not. Completely yellowed out on her old feathers! The worst is her neck. The side parts of the feathers have shredded off because they are SO old. So it's like a little stick. She finally had a bunch of wing feathers coming in and got done on the back of her neck....... But not the sides. She looks decrepit!! Poor dear.

I thought she might have parasites a couple of months back. But NADA! We treated her anyway. And she hasn't slowed down with popping out eggs either. Just wish she would hurry up and pop out some new neck feathers!![]()

This is Brown Beak, one of my white layers that were sold to me as Rhode Island Whites. Someone on here (can't remember who) said they were probably Amber Whites, and I'm inclined to agree.
Anyway, I got them with bare necks and broken, sticky, stained feathers that were brittle and dry, like straw. But after a decent molt they came back better than ever! They're so soft now; not sussex or orpington soft, but still nice to tough. And just look at that pretty pattern! Brown Beak has the most coloring; Jenny is practically white.
They've improved so much that husband no longer calls them the ugly ones.![]()

He has quite a good line. Congrats.I hatched the cuckoos from a batch of eggs I won on an Ebay auction from NoRus Marans - nobody else bid on them & I got them at a VERY low price. I think he was just seeing how much they'd bring because I don't recall him ever offering any again.
Here's his website & he's on FB too:

I'm really thinking of getting some black coppers - really love that dark egg color.
