"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

:lau LMAO! Who me? I'm happy to help enable you. What all I did was get some new breeds. :gig This is a hobby for me too. I can't help it that I've been at the right place at the right time to get rare breeds at good prices. I think they might be enabling me. :idunno what are friends for. :lau it's a few here and a few their so we don't need a program yet. Lol! I'm happy to help 4 h clubs. Pam

Well if that "rare breed, good price" superpower ever leads you to some quality SS, let me know! :lau

that's what I think as well if they are in with pigs and so forth then they will pick at the ground no matter what..so that is prolly why they taste weird...there prolly eating piggy dew and such...making the egg get a bad taste...

That's too funny! She is already hyper vigilant about what she eats and how her chickens are kept. That might send her over the edge. LMAO! :lau

I hope you hung on to your silver it took a while but it really was a wise investment. Pam
Let's see, $800 worth of silver bought in 1976 would still be worth....not much. If I'd banked it and let it get interest. Bookoos. I truly did learn a harsh lesson on this one.

But, hey, when have I let that stop me from spending money. NEVAH!!!

Out of the three rare breeds I have the legbars are the only ones I wanted. Just happened to be at the right place at the right time so you never know. I'm so glad I went with the Biefeleders they are such a sweet doscle breed. They lay really large eggs. And it doesn't hurt that they are so good looking either. I'll keep my eyes out for them for you. Now that you said it I'll probably run across them. That's usually my luck. Pam

Last year silver was at 56 dollars an ounce. I know it's gone back down but it will go back up. But if I had done that I'd have sold it at last years high. Even better investment is rare coins. But that's for a different forum. Pam

I'll get her email for you. She needs some Legbars, I think. She wanted the blue-green eggs so bad but the hatchery quality chicks she bought do not lay them. I told her about auto-sexing breeds & gee, there were four of us ladies standing there (slow day at the clinic) yacking away about genetics & chickens. We had a great conversation!

I *need* some Bielefelders but I need to get these RIRs grown up & out of my upstairs study first. IF it EVER stops rainings & they EVER feather out all the way! They're only 2 weeks old, so got a ways to go yet...

You have about six weeks to go.Lol! I'm trying to decide on building another small coop or intergrating the rescues with some of mine other birds that are close in age. So I can get some chicks out or my utility room. One is spoken for of this group. One is a younger rescue that was to young to stay with the others the gut asked me to take. He saw me making money selling eggs thought he'd do the same then he realized that it's work so he gave them to me. Can't believe he hadn't noticed how deformed it's legs are.i need to cull her just waiting on the guinea she is attached to the crippled hen till I get her a mate. Pam

You HAVE to be, hands down,  the worst enabler I've ever known! :lau
We will definitely be doing some "wheeling and dealing" this coming year. This is just my hobby, you know, so I have all the time in the world to wait.

I need to send you some info - the nurse practitioner at our city clinic is looking for some eggs to hatch so her kids can show in 4-H. We had a great conversation the other day. She is all about self-sufficiency & has even already processed her own extra roosters! I told her she needs to mosey on over here & join our group.

right now I'm wishing it would stop raining - really, it can STOP any time now! this has been ALL DAY!!!! and I do need to do some laundry before going back to work but right now afraid I'd flood our septic system.

and watching some eggs on Ebay.... I need to stop that, too. I don't really need Rhodebars. But I saw a cross of Rhodebars on dark RIRs (like what I just hatched) & gee, they really look so nice!

You 2 are a hoot. At least you both know what breeds you are buying and do your research. I don't understand why some people constantly post pictures on Fb, saying, "I just bought these birds, what are they??". Same thing, over and over. Strange way to deal with animals.
