"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I have 3 or 4 days left on my hatch. I'm keeping busy and distracting my self with other tasks. I'm not even going to take the turner out this time. I'm just going to shut it off when it's level. I've done things a lot more hands off this time, just to try something different. :fl

My hatch a batch app says I'm at 81% but with bantams I like to be ready a day early, just in case.

Can't wait to hear your out come. Pam

Sure Ron. These are our primary egg layers. Currently we have one New Hampshire Red roo and a BLRW roo. Our hens include 2 Golden Comets, a White Rock, 4 Australorp, 4 Speckled Sussex, 4 GLW, 4 SLW, and 4 Black Sex Link.

pretty flock!

Went home for lunch & the 4 new chicks were dry & jumping around so I moved them to the brooder, unplugged the bator & Jim said, Aren't you going to leave it in another 24 hours & I said, I doubt it - it's been 72 hrs so I think whatever's going to hatch would've by now.

WRONG! I looked at each of the remaining eggs & wouldn't you know spotted a small pip on one & when I held it up to me ear, heard a faint "cheep"! so I widened the pip hole just a tad - made sure the membrane was open so oxygen can get to it, added some water & plugged it back in. I have never before had one pip this late in the hatch; guess there's always a first time for something new!

Sounds nice. To bad no Speckeled Sussex Roo or a certain member might be stalking you :lau
FYI not me. Lol! I'm Ron's wife Pam. We share. Lol! Jump in any time.

Always nice to see more SS around the thread! I have four SS hens and a roo, and I'm setting a small clutch tomorrow. :D

Where are yours from?

Great news! Pam

Hello all ! ! ! Sorry to interrupt, just wanted to wave a hand from the big city of Vinton. I also wanted to see if anyone has ordered a Cackle Surprise. I ordered mine, and is set for delivery on the 23rd. I just wanted to obtain the greatest variety possible, but my only concern would be quality of the breeds. Any opinions or suggestions?
