Yea Ricrow. :)  That's what I'm trying to do. These are hatchery stock barred rocks. It was a straight run of 32 birds. I'm picking out the ones that crow and the flock is getting smaller. I've got the flock about halved right now and there's definitely more "crowers" on the keeper side that need to go. I'm thinking I should keep at least one cockerel, the friendliest, to keep harmony with the girls if there are any.

I thought it was barred rocks that you had! I'm sure you don't have all cockerels, I'm sure you'll have some lovely ladies laying for you soon!

Morning all. I've started blowing out the pullet eggs for a craft project. It's slow going, which is why I'm just now eating my breakfast at 10:30.

Did the front stall? I thought we were supposed to have all the storms yesterday. No rain here, so I need to hurry and get the coop cleaned, then work on my fence.

What's everyone else up to?

Yesterday, we added our chicks to the brooder coop worth the juveniles (we call them the teenagers ) All went well! We tried adding the juveniles to the silkie coop, but the silkie roaster was mean to them, even to the girls. ..so we will try again at another date. And now I'm eating a wonderful duck egg omelet and listening to church! Happy Sunday!

I've got an orpington with poop-mattes feathers on her vent. I tried to wipe her clean with no luck, so I've got her in the hospital until I get a chance to soak her, then she'll probably spend the night inside.

The fence is really coming along! Husband is not so sure about my vision, or my methods. :D He's too practical.

Cockerels have pointy neck feathers. Look good at the ones you know are roos then look at the others. the ones with neck feathers like your roos are roos too. Pam
