"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Cody, the color should tell you if you bave all males. Do some research on this. I think the males are lighter.
That's what I'm saying Linda. There's no rhyme or reason to the colors of these birds. In BR's the hens are supposed to be darker than the males but since these are hatchery stock they aren't bred to SOP. I wish ya'll could see what I'm talking about. I'll try to get some pics.

Starting to sleet and freeze rain here. I'm getting nervous with eggs in the bator.

Alright, (dumb) NPIP question: does getting tested and certified clean mean that there's no salmonella in your eggs? When I talked to the dept. of agriculture they said NPIP had nothing to do with anything. But maybe it's important to DHH to know my flock is disease free?

So is it just the blood testing? I'm always a little embarrassed by my coop and setup, but I don't actually know of it's bad...

The one bird in this photo that is questionable going by combs is on the top roost with it's back facing us but it has pointed hackles and saddle feathers also you see a tail hanging down.

They all look like this typically.

Here you can see different colors.

And a closer shot of two males where one is much darker than the other.

But they're so GORGEOUS! :hit

i actually just got off the phone with the doa not to long ago...maybe an hour and i asked similar questions regarding the npip and stuff...npip is a volunteer program that poeple that are in it are supposed to be honest....lol...also there are alot of rules to be npip...no showing of the birds and such...also there are many different branches to the npip...pallorium test free....is one another is something that starts with a m....and another avian free...most people are just the first step of pallorium free....so check into the different testes and certifications of the npip cause there are several...most people op for just the pallorium test...tho...if you do test positive they take another sample from the other wing of the bird...if that tests positive then the bird is taken into the state and then discarded...that is why most people just do the one test and not the whole kitten kapootle...more tests more chances of something coming up positive ...especially if you buy from several places....they actually said they are having trouble with the hatcheries and the paperwork they should be sending with the birds...

pretty sure they messed up and sent you the all rooster bin...with barred rocks the females dont normally have the large comb....right...?my male looks just like your

birds and the females are all short topped combs...
