Hey guys I got a question. I have approximately 40 month old chicks and I am beginning to have people want to purchase some. All are full blooded but I have approximately ten different breeds from RI to Leghorn, EE and Yokohamas. What should I price chicks at? I'm not selling all of them, just a few to some neighbors. Any suggestions?

Maybe $5 ???

I don't know much about the Yokohama thigh. For some reason I'm thinking those should be more. Maybe others will come in with their opinions too.

Thank both of you. I was generally thinking 5-6, but needed some opinions. And camping, if I had the available funds, I would scoop up some of your eggs I seen online.

Aw, thanks! I sure hope someone will. I hate that they're just aging on the counters. I'm thinking of taking them to the swap in DeRidder this weekend.

Have anything to trade? Pm me. :)

I think they are so pretty! Wish I had room for them in my coop. We are full up though with these 4-H projects :/

I think that's a spring-time problem. I'm currently really desperate for salmon faverolles. Every time I hear that a breed is "great with kids!" then I get all in a tizzy over it. DH is building a tractor right now to be a "playpen" for the camp chicks. One of our helpers asked how many chickens the tractor could house, and DH answered 2-3. :lau

That doesn't put a dent in the 8 I wanted to give the camp, let alone the 12 in the brooder or 49 eggs in the bator. Luckily chicks are smaller than grown hens, and I'll switch them up every day or two... But still... I'm hoping for lots of pullets so they're easier to thin at the end of the summer. Though we've decided to process the roos, if I don't chicken out.

Just dropping in to say a quick Hi! I have to work late today as payroll has to be in early because of next week's holiday - so right now in between the lag with the early crew clocked out & waiting on the regular office staff to leave at 5 & then the late crew.

The hummingbirds arrived today so time to get the feeders out!
