Camping some of my catnip is coming up :) Just don't tell my kitty cat!

Did you try a fogger for your mosquito problem?? Thankfully it has dried out here most of the way. My in laws live close to us and we went by there the other day. The mosquitoes were so bad I thought they were going to carry away the car!!!

Not yet. I bought some granules that were treated with lemon and garlic oil, and other things. Results were disappointing. Maybe I'll put more out tonight. I've been working in the yard and can tell you I apparently forget to spray my elbows and ankles, and along my waistband on my back, when marinating in my cloud of OFF.

I ended up using the deep woods, but I prefer the deet-free, powder dry kind. I think it's OFF, but may be a different brand. I have some Cutter that's lemon and eucalyptus oil, but haven't tried it yet.

Yesterday evening I saw our little black bantam Cochin doing the "deed" with the older of the pretty black hens we got with him. :weee :weee :weee. And she wasn't complaining! Lol, so I'm hoping that means eggs are soon to follow. :fl

I am looking for blue laced red Wyandotte chicks, pullets or hens within a couple hours drive of Baton Rouge.
My husband has been great with helping me with the chickens (Ie. Good husband!) I'm looking to add to my backyard flock and he likes the looks of the laced Wyandotte and it seems their temperament is good so I'm thinking they will be a good fit. I have BCM mixes, Campine, Araucana and Buff Orphington. Each breed has its own coop, run and yard and all but the Campines (too flighty, don't want to loose them) get to free range once or twice a day. I think Wyandottes would fit in nicely.

Please let me know if there are some in the area. Thanks.
