Yesterday I decided to rake out the bantam pens. Leftover crushed dried leaves and hay, some feathers. Of course everyone in the first pen went inside while I was working. I spread fresh wood shavings. It helps keep their feathered feet nice and clean. I start in the second pen, trim down the flowers, spread the wood shavings........ And everyone is still inside. Peeking out the door. I finished and it was a good 40+ minutes before the braver ones set foot back out in their play yard! It was SO funny!!!!! Scary wood shavings!!!!!! I guess since it was crushed leaves and hay before, the big color change really threw them off. We were cracking up!
I love this girls eyes. This is our black copper Marans pullet. She is a piglet and never gets her beak quite all the way clean, lol. She is so gentle and sweet. My daughter wants to take her to the fair this fall.
