"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Yesterday I decided to rake out the bantam pens. Leftover crushed dried leaves and hay, some feathers. Of course everyone in the first pen went inside while I was working. I spread fresh wood shavings. It helps keep their feathered feet nice and clean. I start in the second pen, trim down the flowers, spread the wood shavings........ And everyone is still inside. Peeking out the door. I finished and it was a good 40+ minutes before the braver ones set foot back out in their play yard! It was SO funny!!!!! Scary wood shavings!!!!!! I guess since it was crushed leaves and hay before, the big color change really threw them off. We were cracking up!

I love this girls eyes. This is our black copper Marans pullet. She is a piglet and never gets her beak quite all the way clean, lol. She is so gentle and sweet. My daughter wants to take her to the fair this fall.

The black hairdo, lol. So cute!

How are your Ayam Cemani doing? Did you end up with boys and girls so you can breed them? How are they turning out? I have seen some discussions that sometimes a few chicks have faults, like toes that aren't completely black. And they just work on it June any other breed working away from the less desirable traits. I think they are a super neat bird!

I have both sexes. One had white toe nails but as it grew they turned black. I'll take a pic in the sun looks hollow graphic in the sun. Same with the Sravt hona.We 're building one more coop a four plex.Pam

The black one with the do is a Lyonaisse fizzle. Can't wait till they feather out all the way. Pam

I've got an SS roo I need to rehome. He'll be 4 weeks old on Sunday. $8. Just letting y'all know first. :)

I'm also clearing out my EE and OE chicks. I'm going to let the staff each pick a chick on Saturday, including the polish and cochins, and then I'll sell the rest.

AND I'm going to sell five of my layers. I need to get serious about my projects, and I have limited space. Getting fewer eggs will also be helpful during the summer. I'm putting my camp egg plans on hold for this year, and focusing in the garden we haven't started yet. :/
