"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

We had a short rain and a pretty double rainbow last evening.

Here's a different angle. Three of my pullet hopefuls. The white/red is from one of the white layers that live with TD now. I've thought all along the white and blue were roos, but compared to some others ... I just can tell.

They're pretty, though. :)

Someone outside of Alexandria, Louisiana is under quarantine after receiving hatching eggs from a hatchery that later tested positive for Avian Influenza. Rock River Hatchery. The eggs were incubated for about 17 days and they are telling her they will likely buy up the eggs, all chicks and adult birds at her place. If I see any more info posted I will pass it on.

^That's not good. Isn't too hot here now for the flu to survive. I believe the warm weather up north is what they were waiting on for there to be a pause/stop to the outbreak.

I've got everything setup to process in the morning.
The CX won't fit in the cones I have so I'll have to hang them by their feet with the string beside the birdhouse.

These birds are 12 weeks.
There are a few whopper cockerels. The pullets ain't shabby either.

This is the colonel.

That's a 2x6 he's standing by.

A couple pics of my tomato plants.

Pam and anyone else interested. This is my best looking Biele cockerel.
He's the largest of the ten males in the flock. 2011 import.

Has a rather wide head and so far no side growths on the comb.
