Been think'in about ya. Tell us about what you've been up to and your birds. How is that Dominecker project coming along. Have you been able to get them going?

My Sis has too many irons in the fire. Three kids, a job and a husband. Plus horses, goats, chickens and dogs to take care of.

Well Cody, when I am home I stay in the garden or the chicken pens till I cant see, then I check out this site and my FB groups and spend a little time with the family, we are getting 40 to 50 eggs a day and selling all of them except undesirables which we eat or give to family. I have been having a time keeping up with flock growth. My Dominique project is doing well, I have around 20 birds from 2 months to 4 months old in my grow out pen with all my other juvies. I will add their pics when I get on my laptop later, I am on the company computer now.

Sorry you had a ruff start. Stick around ask questions we're here to help. I have Crested Cream legbars they are great chickens but when just starting I would stick with less expencive birds. I'm in Slidell what part of south La. are you from? There is a swap tomorrow at Covington fair grounds from 10 to 1 or 2. Pam
Im from the Walker/Denham area. (Expensive indeed! meyer hatchery costs 35$ and another web costs 52$)

Lesson one you don't get great quality breeding stock from big hatcherys. I noticed they started selling them last year. Breeders have been selective in breeding and culling birds with faults. If you want them down the road I'd be happy to help you get quality birds weather you by from me or someone else. I really like this breed. Pam

Sounds like you are very busy. Do you record weights at specific ages? I'm glad you have the Doms going. I'd really like to drive down and see your birds and setup sometime. And of course to meet you and your better half.

I'm sure you could teach me a thing or two about birds.

I would be glad to have you down, i will be home from July 22nd till the 4th of Aug. My set up isn't nearlly a grand as yours but it suffices for now. I dont recall hearing any of my birds complain so far. I am having trouble downloading photos to this site. will try later.

I'm slowly getting these roosters sold. I still have the Bev Davis French Black Copper Marens Rooster. Thought I'd remind you before putting ads up to see if you are still intrested.. Stay safe out there. Pam

Cody, this is one of my sweet little Dominique pullets

A few of the Doms, staying away from the older juvies

This one could be one of my futre breeder stock roosters

And this one i am eying for a breeder pullet

You can easely sex them at this age by color, the males are light and the pullets are dark

Topdog,
It's funny to see how much the doms look like the cuckoo marans I have. The males are the lighter ones too. (I have 3 extra if anyone is interested.)
